*more and more series = serious.

Mmm.

True, though with anime it just works so much better... or maybe it's just Asian culture that I'm fascinated with. Better not get into live shows there too...

Haha, after 900 episodes maybe you start not thinking about those details. :P

Yeah he's done that a few times at least, via a certain alcohol-based beverage, via a few experimental drugs from Sherry, but nothing lasts. The alcohol worked a few times, but shorter and shorter with each repetition. Of course they're stalling with the cure for as long as possible, since when he does find it that'd be the end of the intrigue, and the double life of him as both Conan and Shinji, they're getting closer and closer, but new characters get introduced with the Syndicate along with the original two so you never know how close they really are... about the relationship I think I'm just a romantic. I love that part. They're a charming and relatively relatable duo somehow. :P

Yupp.

Was going to say only if you have time man but you already did! :D Nice. Don't remember those interesting moments now hmm, need to watch again. Just A Girl's always a favorite, and I love those powerslide/jumps. Wild style. Brown Sound's awesome. Yeah.

Bare Naked Ladies damn! Another one of those I've heard the name but not sure I've heard the music of. Wasn't feeling the ska at the start but they definitely get into that... getting reintroduced to artists here! I'd heard both Less Than Jake and Bosstones but just somehow never registered them as Ska. Definitely feeling. And where have I heard S.T.S. before, some anime...? That's awesome.

Original 99 Red Balloons was awesome too though! Pop or not. Hey you can start here if you like: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/667858

Wwaaaaat damn man you really are converting me... maybe Digimon isn't so bad...

Yes. In this particular case I just thought it was cool it was apparently Colombia.

Ah good to know. Is it hillier than the place you do live? Soon as I hear Medellin I'm thinking drugs btw, interesting how famous that name's become...

I find the genre quite boring, i even have come to dislike it, and at times even hate it, i will explain:

I remember watching Real Dive some years back, it is a Sci-fi anime with a really cool concept about people who dive into an interconnected virtual reality world, this is a kind of advanced internet that allows people to connect their consciousness directly, and along with it they add some twist in which the planet itself uses the network to expand the consciousness of nature because humanity is destroying it, but wait there's more because androids are a thing in that world so the show also covers the relationship and the places in society that humans and sufficiently complex robots may have with each other.

It even had an awesome opening and ending songs:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pA2Xw4C7gcw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zB8g8lz8ep0

Still with me? so Real Drive sounds like one hell of an anime right? however it was also an Slice of Life anime.

That means 80% of the anime was dedicated to episodes showing the characters go about their uneventful mundane lives, going to school, going to a cake shop, just the bullshit of the every day, and then maybe a smear of plot here and there if you were not sleep after 15 minutes of girls eating cake and talking about cute things.

Within the genre of Slice of Life there's the sub-genre of cute girls doing cute things, Real Drive was about CGDCT, now these were teen girls, so thank god it was not pedo bait, but you have to ask yourself, at the end of the day, shows dedicated to showing high schoolers eating cake for 20 minutes are trying to bait a certain kind of audience, right?

In the end we got an anime with some awesome concepts and interesting conflicts, wasted on following a bunch of chubby girls living their normal life.

Of course Real Drive did quite badly, no one remembers it, or talks about it, and you know why? people didn't like it because of the character design, people complained about the girls and the women being too chubby or fat, so they ignored it and bashed it.

I am a man that is down with the thickness, i love me some girls with some meat and some fat, i like big buts and i can not lie, i want tits fat and hips being wide.

So it kinds of offends me that what got the anime its bad name is not the fact that they wasted their time with slice of life, but that the characters were chubby, and do you know what kind of people would put more weight on that than the actual plot? slice of life fans, because their shit is the absence of a plot. Even the romance (if it can be called that) on the series goes nowhere because of the Slice-of-Life, none of my ships sailed, the major, the detective, and the android remained single, and luckily the girls too end being single, because the nearest love interest they had at hand was the main Diver which was an old man so that would have been too creepy, it didn't stop them tho to go to those creepy implications of romance tho.

Those are my reasons, Slice of Life ruin things.

There are other examples, like Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam (the sequel that everyone wanted but no one deserved because man it is a waste of time), Pale Cocoon (an intriguing world, that remains unexplored, with a mystery that goes nowhere), and the world classic and beloved Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, also known as one of the originators of the Slice of Life genre, i myself gave it a 7 out of 10, as a slice of life it does its job, but man do i confess it irks me how interesting the Sci-fi and the scenery are, and how that is not the damn focus of the story, but instead following the life of an android managing a cafe without clients and riding a scooter down the country side! nothing happens! and what little happens leads to nothing or being left unresolved, frustrating.

Anyway, i hate Slice of Life when its mixed with Sci-Fi, i think CGDCT is bait for pedos, and even when it is not doing any of those 2 things, i find it boring, ok maybe there are some great Slice of Life comedies out there, but i consider those being more comedies than slice of life.

Well that was a rant, i think you hit a nerve of mine.

Can't Conan just get cured, and then they focus on dismantling the syndicate? that can be its own long adventure. I don't get why curing him would mean the ending of the series. For example One Piece could perfectly continue for some years after Luffy becomes the king of the pirates, especially with all that we know about the world, there's a lot of incredible things to do, some really damn serious and that need to be resolved before the series ends, and that wont get solved by Luffy getting to the last island (are you aware of its real name?).

Yeah it was a very theatrical concert XD.

S.T.S is from second ending of Akagi.

I only know the song because of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games, but yeah the original song is quite good too, i do prefer the version by Goldfinger more tho.

When i went and checked that link, it seems like i had already rated it with 5 stars, yet i don't remember when i heard it, must have been a long while ago, it does feel nostalgic, immediately added it to my second NG Playlist, it has been a while since i have been listening to music on NG. I was going to make a joke about self promotion, but really that was a great album to start
listening to more Ska, well played man, well played.

The original Digimon anime was quite good, i defend it all the way to Frontier, maybe even Data Squad, from that point onward tho... not so much, i am so disillusioned with the franchise that i don't even care about the reboot of Digimon Adventure.

I can answer that question with just a yes, but i can put more effort on it.

Colombia is crossed over by the Andean Mountains, along their length, the Andes are split into several ranges, separated by intermediate depressions. The Andes are the location of several high plateaus – some of which host major cities such as Quito, Bogotá, Cali (live here, and is also in a valley, so double flat), Arequipa, Medellín, etc. Taken from wikipedia.

It seems thus, that Colombian urbanization is flat, so most people who live in a city don't deal with hills.

Actually i will dare to say, without doing any proper research, pretty much talking out of my ass, that most Colombians don't deal with hills, my logic is this, sure there are the Andes, but people settled on the valleys and plateaus within the Andes, apart from those areas, we have the 2 coast, to the Pacific and the Caribbean, which are also flat coasts, then the llanos/plains bordering Venezuela, which well... are called plains, and then the Amazon rain forest, which is a rain forest not a mountainous region.

Well the Medellin cartel was made by Pablo Escobar, so the mental relation makes itself.

Damn I need to add Real Dive into my watchlist too now... was my first thought...

Well, I do see the issue, and it's reflected pretty well in Detective Conan too, and a lot of similar long-running shows - maybe not so much with the plot itself as with the very essence of plot progression, and how it's continually halted by these slice of life sessions between.

It's not NOT enjoyable, but often just unnecessarily long. You get stuck if you get into it. Yet when a show of equal caliber but less filler comes along (like say Hunter X Hunter) then suddenly you're blown away by that other one... so, it's a flaw of conformity I suppose. You get used to it, and stop feeling like it's a flaw. Like stagnation is an acceptable metric of progress. Which in a way reflects how in some ways I go about my life...

Haven't seen any of the examples you mention btw. When I think slice of life it's more like Hibike! Euphonium, which to me was amazing. it perfectly captured both the angst and anticipation of practicing for a performance, all the while bringing you into a world of music, teaching you bits and letting you in on the emotions swirling through the character's world. So maybe slice of life for me isn't the traditional slice of life. Not my own life. It's a slice of a special one. it can however be arbitrary too as long as it exudes something that really moves me, or something I relate to. When they somehow seem to capture the essence of whatever it is they're trying to accomplish.

Plus, I'm not a fan of the frenetic pace with a lot of newer Hollywood movies, where they never let things build the way they need to for you to truly immerse yourself, and maybe you get a bit of what you're missing there in some of these otherwise somewhat non-mentionable anime moments.

With sci-fi though hmm... maybe that's just a bad blend.

The adventure's the goal though isn't it? When Luffy finally reaches his destination then the initial thrill of that romance dawn goes away. I can see it continuing but I don't think it'll hold the same promise. Same with Conan. It'd feel like something was missing. Like when everyone in DB suddenly had families and relationships to take care of. Something was gone. The goal. The dream. Something.

Nice.

Ah Tony Hawk had some really good stuff! I have one of the soundtracks on CD for some reason. Barely ever played the games. Most fond memory there though: https://youtu.be/lVehcuJXe6I

Thanks man. :) Yeah I might've linked to it before too... really an honor to be on that thing. I jump in on music occasionally via my feed but these days I'm pretty much just listening to podcasts, audio consumption habits done really changed...

Ah.

Man you're living in both a country and a city too that could easily be confused with the US equivalent. :D

I'd assume most settlements around the world are similar. It's just not as practical to live on the side of a mountain as on a plain - for construction and urbanization purposes and all that, and of course water sources are also always important - yet some of most iconic places do get build in the most difficult terrain... them views.

Yupp. Speaking of Pablo have you heard of the https://www.escobarinc.com/product/fold1/

Stagnation has such a negative ring to it, lets call it stability.

Stability sounds nicer, an stable mind, an stable relationship, and stable life.

Well it is because those examples i gave are of Sci-fi series that had an interesting world that was left unexplored in pro of showing Slice of life tropes, also they are quite bad series too for that reason so people don't talk about em, except for Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, which is universally loved and heralded as an originator of the genre that changed things once it came.

Oh i don't hate all Slice of Life, i just hate it when it gets in the way of more interesting things, for example i liked A Place Further Than The Universe, quite a bit, and i just recommended you to watch Eizouken ni wa Te o Dasu na! so i do know it can be done well.

O no sir, the story has gone places beyond the last island, plus remember that there are the dreams of the other Strawhats too, and Jimbei, just becoming Pirate King is not enough, the adventure can continue beyond that, and there's even the moon, man i can't believe you are not reading the manga, it is even getting official free worldwide simultaneous releases now!

I take it you are not reading DB Super? it has some really hype moments.

Lol

First time hearing about it.

Oh man the amount of cheap tricks used on the marketing of that phone disgust me as a psychologist, how shitty a product it must be to forcefully mix the appeals of sex (objectification of women, and the promise of sex), money (the thing is golden and folds like a wallet), power (it uses the name and image of a drug lord, also it exalts the lifestyle of one), all at the same time.

It's not even subtle about it, i am actually surprised the models are not licking the phone in a suggestive manner.

Apparently the about page reveals that it is a company managed by Escobar's brother, with the sole intention of capitalizing on the name, and he is succeeding at it. Once again society fails, why is a company that celebrates the name of a drug lord doing fine? what a dumb question of course it is doing fine, the guy is the poster face of a life of debauchery and excess, he is the dream and goal of the common folk oppressed by Late stage capitalism, of cheating the system and getting rich.

I did knew that Escobar's son had a company that sells shirts with his dad's face on it, while they follow the same principle, he is not as shameless as his uncle, didn't knew about this other company tho.

@Cyberdevil

So remember that part where i said that i was surprised the models were not licking the phone in a suggestive way?

I was wrong, here is one of them suggestively kissing the phone: https://www.escobarinc.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/fold-babe5.jpg

And another giving it a boobjob: https://www.escobarinc.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/fold-babe1.jpg

I read the history of the company on their webpage.

Apparently the brother was the co-founder of the Medellin Cartel, and he was also the accountant, even wrote a book about, he served 12 years in prison, and now the company which he made to milk the name of his brother, has become trademarked, copyrighted, and internationally recognized, ventures into all kind of fields from the development of phones, to toy flamethrowers (... really), crypto currency, and even legal marijuana field in Canada.

It looks like such a blatant and obvious way to laundry drug money, is almost like i am watching a badly written movie, i lost count of the number of "no way" i said reading that.

I have deal with people with dementia, with esquizofrenia of all times, suffering from deliriums, with psychotics breaks, and this is the most crazy shit i have encountered on this 2 years, and it real and not in someones head.

Anyway, Anderson.Paak released an instrumental album:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30W_pb8TNWI&list=PLkLZNGcjKAQ8ldxo8BINDt0dNQEglZPF8

Also, a One Piece Collab!? The One Piece Collab, it has some great references on it too.

Haha well it IS negative! If you call it negative maybe you'll be motivated to change the trait... I'm working on it. I hope. Bit much stability right now though I guess.

Some people get stuck in all of those things. I really don't want to get stuck in a stable state, I want life to be dynamic and interesting. A little instability's required to really rock the boat.

True true.

Got it got it.

Poneglyphs and all, yupp... feels like all of their dreams might come to their culmination at the same time though. The way it always seems to work lately: everything just works itself out as they keep on going! I'm imagining some kind of final showdown where all parties get involved and finally settle their beefs once and for all, some of them in unexpected ways, of course, with unexpected allies, and maybe some of their dreams change in unexpected ways at the same time... that mang'as expensive though mang. :/ I really prefer reading in official paper form. Some day though. It's nice to have something to look forward to.

As for the moon you don't mean the thundergod might come back into the story again...? I didn't really picture OP going like DBZ otherwise. Out of this world. To other galaxies. To hell. All that. Just seems like some of the relatability might disappear if it does.

Naah not that one either. Might pick it up too in the future then...

The company's owned by Escobar's brother though, so of course it has to have some of his image in it no? Feels like it's part of the brand name. Personally I found it pretty amusing. You just don't see anything marketed like this otherwise. :) Tempted to buy one, though it's not like I'm falling for the marketing, I just like that it's not like any other phone. NO political correctness here. Man if the models were actually having sex with the phone that'd be even better. XD

Wasn't Escobar seen as a bit of a savior over there though? A modern Robin Hood? Am I getting a skewed image from this side of the world...? Media always portray him as that one villain the locals actually loved. Felt like in a way this dude might be carrying on that legacy under a legal enterprise... a mobile contender like this: pretty rebellious. I read through his history too, though more so intrigued by how well he's managing this laundromat...

Saw an interview with the son a while back btw, didn't get a very good vibe from him in particular, but he did have some interesting stories to tell.

Yeah self change is one hell of a hurdle. Tried advancing on my thesis, and now i am back at procrastinating, man why is time management so difficult to do?

Indeed conformism is an insidious ruinner.

Yes the manga is expensive it is at 80+ volumes, but it is getting a digital re publication, that is free, and available worldwide, plus there are the fan scanlations too, or you can just start reading from where the anime leaves in order to catch up and read the cover stories on the wiki, there are so many options i don't think any other manga has such accessibility.

Enel definitively has to come back, there's some real shit on the moon! plus he now has a damn army of robots! it doesn't has to go DBZ levels of space exploration, but it would be nice if they do some space travel.

Some people saw Escobar as a god, he even got elected at one point for the chamber of representatives, that means he was part of the parliament and a congressman, he did build schools, houses, and parks, but he was also a drug lord and the mastermind behind a lot of murder which involved people in the same social strata as the ones that his social projects helped, and he was also pretty much the pioneer of narco politics. However at the same time he had a life full of excess too, he had a personal Zoo and his poached hippopotamuses still wreck havoc to this day.

With the collab i feel like they overused the joke of Luffy being obsessed with meat, i feel like it was almost a waste of a sloth when the series offers so much more, but overall they went to great places, like that failed alliance between Wapol and Crocodile.

Damn what a group, the 3 minute mark was a mindblow, i did not expect for them to turn it up like that, it was great, thanks for the share!

My new addiction is with Warhammer 30K, i have this 3 shorts to blame, they have so much detail and so much lore i ended down the rabbit hole of the Horus Heresy, but it made it all so much more enjoyable:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jcuYA714Jw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhULhHCk_D8
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9wV2sGlXjY

Oooh instrumental album: nice!

Saw that OP collab too. Good fun, though at the same time it's so weird listening to OP characters in English. Voice acting was way off too. And animation. Of course. Not that I was expecting a replica but it would've been fun with more humor like the original...

Still do appreciate NG's way of twisting up the franchise.

Btw what you think of these guys: https://youtu.be/Hxg1dL_x0gw

Got a strange new addiction.

Must have something to do with how you're doing something you don't really want to do? Seems like whenever you're stalling it's always something else that's calling, even if only intuitively. Like: get outside. Don't site around. Fun as whatever tasks I'm may seem to me...

Damn. Words!

Yeah I've seen the fan scans, but just really prefer to read it for real. Most manga seems to be available online though. I've had some books (like Rebirth, most recently) that I just couldn't get a hold of physically - I think they even stopped publishing the translated versions after a while, but it's all there online... if there's no other alternative it's good they're there...

Ooh. Wasn't expecting anything like that. Space travel though, I hope they don't ruin the mood/world/adventure of it all... there's something about the island system, and ocean, the lines, the land mass and physics of everything, that somehow make it all so much more perceptible than the DBZ realm. I know it's all but realistic but still, it's like it could be, but if they really start moving to other planets...

Hippopotamuses in the wild now? Yeah, he definitely wasn't a good person, but interesting, almost like the anti-hero... but your view of him, is it common too? Just a more naive/easily swayed part of the populace that really saw him as a benefactor and leader?

Yeah that was a good one. :)

I know right! Never know if other people will react the same way to this stuff, but so far everyone seems pretty impressed. Just requires a little time to let it all build.

Hmm I better not get too much into that Warhammer world either hmm, impressive detail but an odd kind of saturated color to it all too... are you playing the games too?

Funny you say that, i am relatively content with my thesis but some aspects of it do irk me.

Collecting the physical copies is a year long project, like literally a year long project, in that sense it is one of the less accessible series, which is why they are pushing the digital versions so much, there are even the official digitally colored ones, and they are quite high in quality.

I don't think we will get to see other planets, but some moon exploration could be expected since we know that there are some ancient cities full of interesting stuff in them.

I have no clue at all of what the average Colombian thinks, they are a puzzle to me, i just have to look at every election i have been able to participate and look at the results, i have wasted entire afternoons being a designated as vote jury 5 times already, and count the damn votes on my table and see that i have no fucking idea what they think, if it is up to me i would say most Colombians are easily swayed, opportunistic, masochist, and corrupt or at least like to put well known corrupt people in positions of power, but why would you do that? you must like it at that point... an example:

The biggest benefactor (Uribe) of the current elected president (Duque), has been called by the supreme court due to his links with paramilitaries and more false positives and massacres than i bother to count, he has avoided the calls, because apparently that's a thing you can do... and his political party still does fine, the scandals didn't affect him or his party, they won everything, and it was not electoral fraud (i wish it was, boy i wish), people will vote for villains if they get to hear some stupid idea that make superficial sense, na they don't have to make sense, they just have to sound nice to them, even if they sound horrible for everyone else, and i really don't know who those everyone "else" even are, because young, old, rich, poor, male, female, black, white, they go and vote for them. There are tendencies, yes, young people are more liberal and open to alternative parties, but young people don't vote much, and when they do, i wish they could vote better, is not a lot to ask, the improvement is not enough, is not even being apolitical is just having bad taste, i wish some young people would just stay in their homes, it would have saved me time.

Anyway is probably the same shit with Escobar, if he were alive he probably would be president, it wont even surprise me, hell at least he did finish his infrastructure projects, that's more than what Uribe can say for himself, still a villain tho.

Etno-chaos is both exactly what you would expect, and then a billion times more, plus they are songs with a message and story, which adds to it, they cover all the spots.

I am reading up on the Lore trying to get into the novels, as for the games for now i have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine on my Steam Library, awaiting to be played, i am giving the demo of Stoneshard a try too in the meantime, fuck i should be working on my thesis...

Yeah but do you REALLY enjoy writing your thesis? Wouldn't you rather take a walk, or eat something, or read some manga? I mean our bodies aren't really designed for the tasks we give them these days. Mental work doesn't produce chemicals in the body that reward us to the same extent as physical ones do, or give you sensory pleasure such as when you eat good food - of course there's a lot of gamification seeping into pretty much all aspects of life that cheat our reward system in various ways, but most monotone, digital tasks... even if it's a topic you like I don't think it's ever a task that really calls to you the same way. You know what I'm sayin'?

It is a big task... they do have those 3-in-1 editions too. Maybe even 5 or 10-in-1 at this point. But yeah: That's why I'm not really into the manga past #60something.

Hmm!

Masochist? Not more so machoist?

Maybe it's the notion that villains actually have the power to make a change somehow, that they don't need to comply to the rules that tether those normal rulers... hmm, starting to sound like an old person at the end there. ;) But yeah, people make strange choices under strange circumstances... hey do you have any corona talk over there? Is it on the news at all? I feel like maybe a place as wild as Colombia might not really panic at something as puny as a pandemic.

Sounds like the thing you really maybe intuitively wish to do is write a thesis on Warhammer. .) I have some old Warhammer models, glued together myself but I never got to the painting stage, and that's about it I think. Oh a few comics too. It's a pretty intriguing franchise. So much material spread out over such a long a span of time, and so many different forms of media, both mainstream computer games and boardgames and collectors items that span the ages.

Thesis though, this is: good luck.

I like writing my thesis, the problem is some technical aspects that appeared and i have not been able to solve, so i have to reformulate, and that's kind of agonizing because everything looked so damn fine just some time ago, and well it is part of the field, really i should have finished this 2 months ago, it was a simple small project that got unnecessarily complex, and in the end i have no one but myself to blame, and i guess that's the real reason why i am having difficulties, the self guilt appears every time i touch it, but not touching it wont help, it is a vicious cycle.

I am thinking of reformulating things from the middle up, swallow my pride and just be done with it, but i don't want to do it, because people will say that they knew it was gonna happen, and it shouldn't have happened, it was really simple, BTW my thesis is or was the development of a human training protocol to make the use of Brain Computer Interfaces more accessible, the protocol is already finished, all i have to adjust is limit the neuropsychological test to just one for sustained attention, which i already did, the bottle neck was just getting approval to use the BCIs, it sounds fancy but is not really all that fancy, so finding myself thinking of changing parts of it is really annoying, because is like admitting that the naysayers were right.

Yeah if you can't get collector boxes or combos it is kind of a hurdle to collect it physically, but does it has to be physically tho?

If Urban dictionary doesn't lies, i think machoist counts too.

Sure, the villain indeed will change some things, but they will put their self interest at the front, and a self serving civil servant is not a civil servant, in then end you will pay the price with a worst quality of life.

The country is under a general curfew until April, at least for my city people are taking it surprisingly seriously and responsibly, but then again it is just the 3rd day, which to be fair i didn't thought could happen, i was sure people would risk getting finned or arrested just to get their dose of outside and social gathering, but nope, one of my neighbors did had an all out party at 3 in the fucking morning, but it was inside of his house, they should use their terrace for that more often, anyway, still irresponsible, but somehow they didn't broke any rules, i am sure there were more than 10 people, at least that is what i want to think, why would you put your speakers on blast for less?
So in general people are staying at home, and practicing social distancing, i assume washing their hands too, that's the power of the media they are good at what they do, and since general stores and access to critical things is still operational i think the only reason for people to not be able to deal with this would be if they really, really can't cope with staying at home, no shortage of toilet paper over here, at least not yet.

How are things on your end?

A thesis on Warhammer is a great idea actually, it's just a matter of choosing a paradigm and analyse an aspect of Warhammer from there, is not something too hard because you are putting things in a frame so to speak.

For example i did an analysis of gender roles and female stereotypes on the first 100 chapters of OP for a class on Psychology and Gender, and man Oda is a genius, those were some clean 100 chapters the guy was ahead of his time, matter of fact he kind of gets worst in that regard as the series advance, thriller bark alone is pretty much a different manga when it comes to that topic a lot comes crashing down, but on the East Blue arc OP held its ground so damn well it was a breeze to do the analysis because not only was it topical it is counter to the usual portrayals of women and actually offer answers sometimes directly to a lot of the criticism made to popular media, the character are purposeful they exist with inner drives and motives, layered there are more than 2 dimensions to their characters, impactful to the story and the world they are in, they are not hysexualised (in the technical therm), and even when they are (Alvida) their psychological characteristics become the focus of their portrayal (she is despite all, still ugly in the inside), autonomous, independent but realistic, they have flaws and strengths, and are not attachment or plot devices to romance other characters but characters on their own, so you get plenty of ammo to make a lot of arguments and statements, East Blue in that regard is so good it is kind of unfair how easy the analysis can be.

And i can see some really interesting stuff with Warhammer too, so things would flow really well, the problem of course is time, i would have to first change my basis from neuro to something else, then collect supporting literature, that part is easy you just have to do the crunch put in the time, defining the parameters and then doing the stuff is the fun part, the problem is finding the members of your thesis committee, your thesis supervisor and the 2 jurors (which are found by your supervisor or the faculty, and if they fail you have to find them yourself!), then present an initial dissertation, get that approved, then prepare for the final one, since this would be an analysis on media you don't have to deal with the hurdles of acquiring equipment, passing informed consent, dealing with an ethics committee, getting access to a lab, man fuck bureaucracy, is not like i am asking for a budget is just putting 6 electrodes on the heads of 4 people and sitting them in front of a screen!, anyway, i digress, even without that those things take time, it is what fucked me over on my current one.

So yeah a thesis on Warhammer would be awesome, but time is a problem. Maybe if i were more of a socialite things would have gone smoother.

Warhammer models are awesome, i love the Tyranids and all the ---fexes, i wish they could get buffed.

Mmm, relatable. Though I think you missed my point about physical exercise being all the more stimulating than mental, so as to make even the most entertaining tasks of inteligence just not beckon as much as more motion-based distractions. I really believe that it'll take a long time for evolution to keep up with our new ways.

Neuralink stuff? :O Does sound pretty complex. Is this something you think might be used in practice too?

Yeah man! Physical = all the greater a reward! Just thumbing the paper, smelling the freshly cut trees, hearing the subtle crispness of the material every time you shift your grip on the book... the sensation's just so very different when you read something in material form. Plus no unnecessary blue light or technological interference.

Man the meaning is somewhat different than I thought it was. XD Was thinking more so: essence of being macho. But alright, somewhat related...

It's true, but I still think people see that lure. Like how females are attracted to an alpha whether they want to or not. Like the USA elected Trump. It's always the one with the power to do things. Maybe power intuitively relates to a provider, and in the end that's what we really want, regardless of gender...

Not saying it's not naive to elect a leader based on superficial traits rather than expectable action, but we're all pretty naive after all. We choose what we want to believe in.

Any limits on how many people are allowed to gather together there too? I'm surprised too, maybe considering the topic above maybe people there are really very susceptible to media propaganda...

Over here we're just all really on edge. Personally I'm fighting the early symptoms of a cold, and have been commuting to work at least one or two times a week since this started so trying to not let my mind get the best of me right now... might be a common cold. Might be Corona. Might not be very serious either way.

But both borders and schools are still open otherwise. They imposed a restriction on gatherings - no more than 500 people - which of course probably won't do anything. Frequent recommendations to wash your hands and stay at home if you are even slightly sick. A lot of people are working from home, driving themselves, they've been stacking up on basic foods but there's no shortage in the shops. That media panic though, I'm getting caught in it, hoping they close schools and get people really isolate. Still it's hard to know if this really is a bigger threat than a regular seasonal cold. What do you think?

Nice. :) Always felt like the first arcs stood out in a positive way, be it the air of nostalgia, or the humble beginnings, or as you say maybe a polished repertoire of characters and events that doesn't fall to stereotype or sexualization... things really change when people like Boa Hancock start showing up, but I guess you could say they're still their own character...

YOu really took that idea to another level hmm. :) Time, alas, is the banisher of all grand spin-off plans but those of utmost prioritization...

Do you have any Warhammer collectibles/merch yourself?

I am really good at dodging the idea of changing my sedentary lifestyle.

Neuralink uses intracranial implants, these are put on your scalp no need for a surgical intervention. Yes i do think it will, because it involves improving a neglected area of the field the human user since the current tendency is towards developing better algorithms, skipping the training entirely in some cases. Personally speaking tho, i do think that an ideal BCI should be used without the need of training, so it should be intuitive and adaptive.

But the images are smaller, even compared to the weekly magazine they are reduced in size even when the paper is of higher quality, plus they don't have the colored version in paper format yet.

Machismo? yeah that applies too, a lot actually more than the others. But i mean when you constantly vote for people that is openly corrupt you have to be masochist is some degree.

The US is a complex cause because they were under waves of information manipulation which did affect the elections, but yeah i can see that being somewhat appealing, in its own weird logic, if you forget that you are voting for someone to become a civil servant, i guess that the big difference when people think of a president i think that they should be working for me, i am paying them with my taxes, but for others they think they are electing their boss that will then do them some favors if they get lucky.

This is different here, everyone knew the bad stuff, for example the false positives, reefer to the reports of successful military operations carried out against guerrilla soldiers, however under investigation it is discovered that they were abducted civilians who were executed and disguised as guerrillas by our own military, just so that they could show an achievement, that's the kind that is being denounced by the supreme court, and yet people still vote for his party. At that point you are either fine with shit like that, or actively denying reality.

Maximum of 10 persons i think.

Oh man, well that sucks, the common cold is a pain in itself, hope you get better, what do they tell you at work?

You are taking it way more leniently over there, policy wise at least, schools and nonessential business closed over here, as well as travel, i wonder how people who survive on a day to day basis are managing now that we are on the 5 day.

Sorry man it is a global pandemic, it spread way too rapidly, i wish it was just a seasonal cold, but even a seasonal cold can give problems to elderly people and young children, they are the main reason why these drastic measures are being taken, the high degree of infection makes it so hospitals get overwhelmed and forces doctors to make choices that they shouldn't have to make, chances are me and you will catch it, and we will be fine, but if our grandmothers or grandfathers get it and they need access to a hospital it would be ideal if they can give them proper care rather than being put in line because everyone else in their generation ended sick at the same time, this virus is more of an statistical problem at its core, is a numbers game.

Boa is her own character indeed, and she uses her beauty as a weapon she is not a fan-service character, because the fact that she is physically desirable is a plot driven need, and is something that she owns and uses to her advantage, is not just a factor meant to objectify her or sell merchandise, and her relationship with her body and how others react to it is rooted on her personal history, Hancock would pass with flying colors, yes she has an extreme thin waist and huge breast, but that's the point for her case.

Things got weird way before that, when for example Nami gets assaulted while taking a shower in thriller bark, then you have her being unconscious on a wedding dress for half the arc, then you have her being saved by Sanji rather than letting her save herself, and when she wakes up she gets no fights, and is reduced to a token character until she finally reunites with her crew, that arc also had Marriage Hunter Lola, which was a woman who derived her own value from the idea of being able to find a husband (which luckily in Whole Cake island Oda revisits and kind of redeems, but until then she was just a mere stereotype of what women should expect out of life), Doctor Hoghback and Cindry in a fetishistic relationship of master servant, with Cindry literally being a busty zombie maid against her will... man when it comes to gender dynamics that arc has all the bad examples, and i love Perona, she is one of my favorite girls, but the fact that she dresses and acts like a little spoiled girl is another one of those things that makes that arc look worse compared to everything before, i am glad Perona has matured personality wise after the time-skip.

Anyway that was just one example of what makes OP great there's the world building too which i think is unmatched in shonen manga, that alone is its own beast.

Nope, i am relatively new to the Warhammer world.

I don't mean to make you change it, I am simple stating what I believe to be one of the fundamental causes of why we don't do the things we want to do that we don't really want to. ;)

Interesting... I didn't see you possibly heading into this particular field when I heard about your studies the first time. Has this been a plan all along?

They have an official colored version? :O Thought they only did that for occasional cover pages... yeah that is true. It'd be better to follow via Shonen Jump... or whatever magazine it's currently a part of. Straight from the source.

True true.

Isn't everyone always under some form of information manipulation wave though? Propaganda, mainstream media, there's always someone with a bigger interest steering the way. Huh, you know I've never really thought of elections as a way for me to effectively hire someone to do my bidding. I really should. Feels like we're so far distanced from the idea that these people actually work in our favor that you end up only considering who would be the lesser evil among them. It's like walking across a bed of burning coal, you're just trying to find the shortest; coolest path.

Ah. That's definitely a bit darker.

Way wiser than us with that.

Thanks. Been taking a few grams of C-vitamin a day the last few days, among other things, and it seems like *knock on wood* it's getting better... have been feeling a little bit short of breath but maybe just my mind playing tricks on me. Would be awesome if this does blow over just like that and it turns out I did have covid-19 though. :) Be immune and not have to think about this anymore. I'm a bit excited to try one of those self-tests whenever they start getting them into mass production.

I work at a small company and we can't really stop our business either way though, my boss has had a sore throat for a couple weeks so hmm, you never know, he stayed home one Friday but then decided it was probably just a regular cold after all and went back to it... working from home the rest of the week at least. Way better like this.

Yeah I know, I feel like they're prioritizing business a bit too much, still underestimating the impact a rapid rise in infections will have on our healthcare... or maybe they're really so naive to believe people won't get infected at an increasing rate like this. Yeah there's probably a lot of people in tough spots right now. SethSkoda here at NG was living in a homeless shelter a while back, managed to get a room now though. Been speaking to a buddy in the UK who was almost out of food, local supermarket pretty much only had peppers and honey melons left - and he's allergic to melons. XD <-- I laugh because it seems to be better now. The irony though...

Wonder how this will spread when it really hits Africa too, and now that it's in India...

Mmm, but do you think the symptoms are comparable to the common cold? Better/worse? Yeah I don't have grandparents still alive but am a bit worried about my parents, still live at home and they're both 77 y/o. Not the best age, but they're in good health for their age so it could be worse too. Fingers crossed.

Funny how most of the female characters in the cast seem to have those same sexually aesthetic traits though. :) It is fan service in a way I think, or maybe just Oda's preference, but it definitely helps that they have personality to back it all up. I'm still surprised (and thankful) none of the main characters have actually gotten into any form of real relationships too. It'd steal the focus a bit. Also one of the things that separates this from the DB world.

Ah yeah you're right... I seem to remember this one bath house scene at the end of the Alsbasta arc too. Also do like Perona. Glad she's still floating around too.

Yupp.

Do you hope on getting into that bit too? Solely digital interests?

Gotcha.

It has been a plan for 2 years now, which kind of makes this bottle neck all the more embarrassing/frustrating.

Yes the official digitally colored manga they call it, and it is gorgeous. Shonen Jump, you can access it from Mangaplus their international page, or Viz their american subcontractor, it is also on amazon kindle i think.

True, true, but the manipulation made on that election was particularly aggressive, there was the whole Reddit scandal and everything.
Yeah just a small change in how you perceive the role of the people you vote for makes a big difference.

Yeah, some of the generals involved got court martialed, so i don't know how he keeps avoiding the calls.

One of the main symptoms is high fever, so chances are you don't have it, being immune would be nice, but like i said, the real risk is passing it onto other people, you could be asymptomatic and just carry it with you, never experience any symptoms, but then pass it to someone that may not be that lucky.

Quarantine and lock downs do hit hard small business and independent workers, it is good that you have the option to work from home tho, make sure to keep a schedule tho.

I guess it is because if business start failing a lot of things can go wrong, so they would need a period for deescalating operations.

Or maybe they are confident on the infrastructure of their health system, are there a lot of elderly over there?
That sounds horrible, when people rush in to hoard on products and disrupt the supply line things do get unnecessarily harsh, good to read that things got better.

Since it is a problem of organizing public order zones that are in compromised situations would have it harder, India has a lot of people but they have an unified government so i think they could manage if they react early, for African countries it is a problem of communication really, with the Ebola spread they had however i think they could manage since they already dealt with one recent pandemic.

Is worse, because it spreads more than the common cold, but has the symptoms of SARS (Severe acute respiratory syndrome), so people that get hit the harder die from things like pneumonia.
That's worrisome, but is good that they are healthy, as long as you follow the recommendations it should be fine, do the same you would do to not pass the common cold to someone.

O totally from Drum Kingdom onward Oda gave all the women of a certain age the same body, however how that body is exposed changes, but thinks like Nami wearing nothing but a bra and jeans, that's blatant fanservice.
Yeah it helps a lot to move the story and keeps inner drama at bay, but is not like there's no romance in it, Sanji and Pudding and Viola come to mind for example.

Yeah the happiness punch, in that however it was Nami getting rid of the situation by effectively cutting off the shenanigans, even if she gave them what they wanted (letting them see some glorious tits), she is taking charge of the situation, controlling it and resolving the matter at hand, it is still an infiltration of her privacy but at least she gets to do something about it, in Thriller Bark she was defenseless, din't even got the chance to talk back, and at best she screamed for help, they are similar situations but the way in which the characters manage to react to them were completely different.

Most of her character development happens in the cover stories when we see her living with Mihawk helping him with the humandrills teaching them how to farm, and cook, getting jealous of the bear cubs being more interested on Mihawk than her, it was quite lovely, they kind of seem like a married couple.

For now i am interested more in the lore, and some of the digital game, for the game board i don't think i am ready yet.

Hmm. Is any of this getting delayed further by the covid thing too now?

Nice. :) I just might check it out anyway, affinity for real paper or no...

For some reason I first read that as 'manipulation made on that electron'. Didn't really remember that bit of the convo. Anyway: yeah, I remember haring about it but not really diving into it...

Ah.

Yeah, though some people seem to get it with barely any symptoms at all, just a little sniffle, nothing more than a common cold. If that. Which in this case might be my 77 y7O parents, so indeed, still a little worried...

Definitely. Especially people in any more people-oriented business, like my sister (masseuse), everyone cancelling their bookings, the state's talked about helping out but it'll probably be loans at more reasonable rates than usual. So still not ideal... it's a bit interesting how when the restaurant business is being hit the regular supermarket business is getting all the more customers, feels like the supply line for food might change, wonder how this impacts resellers and similar... it definitely affects a ton of people. With fewer people being able to sustain themselves there's less income to go around. I think we're on a bit of a peak of profitability right now, with people stocking up and investing in certain items/services like crazy, but it just might end up with a real economical depression/crash... I just got into investing a bit on the stock market too. Superbad timing. No big money but still...

Best try to see the opportunities here instead. Invest in what loses value yet might regain it later. Keep your funds in forms that won't get caught up in inflation/devaluation. So much risk in just keeping money in the back too, maybe silver, maybe bitcoin, if property costs dwindle that'd be perfect as long as money value doesn't as well... how are you managing your economy these I wonder? Any thoughts?

Well they're not confident in the infrastructure, they've put up some temporary wards, like military hospitals, but don't expect those to be enough either if it really hits hard. I don't know what they're thinking really. Yes, we do have elderly, though not sure if they're any more than the norm... yeah, it's probably still crazy in a lot of places, people seeing how crazy it's been for people in other places definitely increased the demand here too, but most people seem pretty level-headed...

Mmm, feels like the sheer population amount in India is a pretty big danger, they were early with a a two week quarantine on anyone who entered the country, but that didn't work. Hopes up though! Yeah maybe Africa might actually deal with this better than most, they seem more used to handle hardships, strong people... probably relatively strong immune systems too compared to the rest of us, what with all the disease/bacteria they get there.

Yeah, and I assume most people aren't as stocked up on supplements either, ordered 3 kg ascorbic acid recently which sho9uld last about three years in moderate doses... not as efficient as intravenous of course, but still, everything helps. Feels like if you're in the same living space it's hard to not pass on anything you get, but for sure, a lot of hand washing, no dealing with food when you have symptoms, clean clothes and closed doors when possible...

Yeah that's true. :) And Zorro and Perona to some extent, Luffy and Boa, Usopp and that girl from North Blue... they pretty much all have some kind of potential thing going on. Oddly enough not Nami and Robin though. Guess it might be an intentional choice as to let imagination roam free, all of them on that little boat for so long stretches of time...

True true. First situation did feel way more Nami-like as well.

Oh, interesting, so maybe Zorro and that marine were more of the potential couple there...

Cool. Best ready that thesis first fo rizzle, then go Warhammer wild! and all!

I actually got one extra month (maybe more if i get even more lucky), and you bet i am here wasting my time, because self sabotage is like that, there are of course some things that are out of my hands, but boy should i be reading more papers than i am doing.

Manipulating electrons sounds doper.

Well but at 70 even the common col is troublesome, take care of yourself and yours, by following the recommended guidelines, we kinda got lucky that basic prevention is enough to limit the spread.

Over here the local government is putting into effect an aid campaign to deliver food provisions to the most vulnerable social demographics, so that they can get their basics secured, we are currently at a week of containment, and it surprises me how efficient they are handling it, this is the more competent they have ever been, wild stuff, there's a caveat of course the enrollment is done using the internet, so a lot of people that need it probably can't access it, even if the option is being offered, which i personally didn't thought they would offer it at all, so if we can do it why wouldn't yours do it too? they idea of a loan sounds logical, but this is a global emergency, a disaster should come from disaster founds, which i believe come from the taxes everyone pays, a pandemic is just like an earthquake.

Definitively after people go and panic buy things the whole things enters out of sync, things run out faster than they should, then they resupply, but people are not buying, so things that spoil go to waste, it is something that happened in Venezuela when they entered their economic crisis, and it ended really bad, then the government had to regulate the distribution of goods, and that was a whole different mess, all because of unnecessary hoarding.

Oh man with stocks going down in general, maybe it is not that bad of a time, think about it, things are going lower now, but they will rebound once the critical point passes, and you will be buying low and selling high.

Bitcoin is still viable? last time i heard about it, it was still going down. I am managing with my savings, and works from home, database managing for some projects at the U, i just had to take the main program to my house, plus i live with my mother and that helps a lot, she is also working from home (social worker, as a project manager).

Well that's odd, but hey maybe things work out anyways, optimism is all you can have when there's nothing else to do.

Apparently India has been dealing with the virus since January, and just recently made a nation wide lock down, and things are not turning out that well for them: https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2020/03/india-coronavirus-covid19-narendra-modi/608896/
Since it is a new virus the chances of being immune are pretty much low if not randomly low, i was seeing things from their experience, since this is not the first time they are being hit by a pandemic.

Vitamin C, is a good thing to have, but for the record, it has only been proven to boost the immune response as long as you accompany the intake of the vitamin with rigorous exercise, so since you already made the investment, rather than churning the whole thing, start sweating and moving. https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/12/1/236/htm
Also an immune response that is too strong can backfire, in fact it is one of the mechanism behind how pneumonia works, so don't go too crazy with it, moderation man.

Since both the common cold, and Corona-chan, are passed by droplets, appart from washing your hands you should cough in tissues, and disinfect surfaces, specially things of common use like kitchenware, other than that you can bee in the same room and nothing will happen, for example: breathing the same air, using the same shower, wont pass the infection, but sharing a remote control then touching your face would, so if you wash your hands nothing should happen.

Her name is Kaya, she totally had a crush on Usopp, no idea how he saw her, i guess he had to deal with his complexes first before thinking about hooking up. Oh man Luffy has Shirahoshi, Rebecca, Boa, Bartholomeo, and some people put Vivi in there too. Well Robin can make clones of herself so i will leave it at that.

Zoro and Tashigi? you gonna do Smoker dirty like that? man i want to drop some spoilers here but you will catch up eventually, lets just say that Zoro gets lucky in Wano with some samurai girls wink wink.

Yeah.

Yupp yupp, Parkinson's Law is a good excuse too, the more time you have the more time it takes. Congrats on the extra month though!

Rizzle fo.

It's true, anything can become serious at that age, though I do believe people can be stronger/healthier than they think they can even at higher ages. I feel like a big part of why old people grow old so fast is psychological, that it's socially accepted, and when you stop working it's expected you slow down and come to terms with being old. Just look at Vince McMahon though, 73 y/o: https://www.sickchirpse.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Vince.jpg

Do you think it is enough to limit the spread though? Or that it's more of a starting phase over there right now? It seems to take a while before you actually notice an increase, over here we had 100-200 cases for a long time... now suddenly it's over 500 per day. Aaaa numbers. Can't really trust them though. The incubation time makes for unexpected rises when they do happen, but measurement strategies change, it just takes one person to infect a whole neighborhood, who knows...

That is pretty efficient. The communes have a similar system here, delivering food to older people/risk groups, but I don't believe we actually have an official service for it, you just have to call in. A lot of people are volunteering to make deliveries too. A lot of people have been ordering food online even before this, so of course those deliveries are picking up like crazy now too. It's not all so bad. A lot of people are chipping in and helping out. You just wonder how this'll effect society long-term. And the economy. What foods we'll be running out as import lines change etc etc... I really hope you're not stopping the avocado farming over there. :P

Disaster funds hmm, wonder if we have those... the way the state uses our taxes has been a disaster for so long now. Ho9pefully it'll hold for this, but they can't really cover everyone's paycheck, I don't believe there's that much of a reserve even if they really cut down on other areas. We don't have earthquakes over here, or hurricanes, or other natural disasters. Wonder how prepared we are for something like this.

Huh, interesting... when it's on a global scale I expect we'll have problems just importing certain items too. France for example are currently stopping all transports that go via them. No entry at all.I'm hoping in the long run this actually leads to some more sustainable produce, that we do more and more locally. Norway for example might not really need to ship all their fish to China just to have it packaged and shipped back. There's a real possibility to cut down on some insane transportation lines right now, even if it'll take some time to find a new balance.

Yeah I have thought about that, you just really need to know when it'll rise again, and will it ever rise to the same level it was at before this all started? Which companies to invest in? Which ones go bankrupt, which ones adapt? There really is a looot of opportunity right now, just wish I'd waited until this all started before I invested anything at all. Oh well. Hope to make up for it soon, hope I don't miss the right window... it's a good time to buy services in foreign currencies too if you match the ideal currency rate. They're all over the place too.

Yeah I read recently that Bitcoin just dropped a lot, I don't know, was thinking of buying some silver but suddenly everyone else is buying too so it's not a good investment at all. Hmm. I just really hope we don't get some kind of big devaluation, most of my savings are on the bank, wasn't expecting other areas of the world to get into financial trouble before we did, before this whole thing started, and for example import some silver via USD to diversify my funds...

Good to hear you're working from home though. Same here. Had my first real conference call today, but it's a small company, not so difficult to manage things at a distance even without meetings. I brought an external HD to work last week and copied over everything. Ideally we'd have a NAS you could connect to from anywhere, but still not at that budget level yet.

Yeah things could definitely be a lot worse. It's not so bad right now. Just a lot of uncertainties.

Randomly low...? Hmm yeah that doesn't seem good at all...

That's really the only study? :/ I've been reading so much more, about families in China that were taking large C-vitamin doses and avoided infection entirely, admittedly no funded research as far as I know... there seems to be certain trials underway though: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04264533

Yes exercise is definitely important. I'm trying to take more walks too, recently started putting on 4 kg weights for them, feels like stress is an issue too. Just being worried doesn't really help the immune system. But too strong immune systems can backfire? O_O What?!

Can't droplets simply be carried over by the humidity in the air you breath out, similar to the common cold? Recent studies show you don't have to cough at all. If you're simply breathing (characters running out one sec)...

Thanks, that was half a month ago, how time flies, man i will be my own end one of these days, however i got some ways to extend it for another semester if all else fails, i could get passed with an incomplete note and finish next semester, or cancel and restart given the extraordinary circumstances, sometimes i do get impressed with how convenient stuff gets at least for this particular part of my life.

Old people have a lot of strength, not necessarily body builder level strength, but they certainly are not feeble, indeed retirement does lead to people growing weak, which is why everyone recommend being active in old age, or young age, this is gonna come full circle and explode in my sedentary face wont it?

It has contagion spread of 1.3 i think, over here it definitively has worked, we have 100 new cases per day on average which could be way worse. The incubator period is the most rare thing, it varies from 2 weeks to an entire month... it pretty much assures that you will eventually get infected because people will be carriers without knowing they are, which means i myself probably already formed part of the problem: https://www.discovermagazine.com/health/asymptomatic-carriers-are-fueling-the-covid-19-pandemic-heres-why-you-dont

How's your cold btw?

Oh we have destroyed entire ecosystems in the name of producing avocado, it wont be going away anytime soon, monocultures are like that. Yeah if i knew how the food market would change, you bet i would be making some investments, but alas, no insight here. I guess the survival of the avocado is a form of insight, now which companies tho?

Disaster funds are not meant to cover someone's paycheck, they are meant to secure a basic needs, food, shelter, you now know keeping you alive in the face of a disaster, it is not insurance. Wow not even tremors? with that said you must have one, it is like one of the basics roles of any state to guarantee the safety of its people when shit goes down.

However at that point you have to consider the POV of the companies that use those trade-lines, will they really let them die just like that?

Oof, that change things, since you have to aim to match and surpass the price before the pandemic i can see the complexity of it, i think that something that could raise up easily could be coffee, tea, and energy drinks, once people get back to their routines they will try to catch up so people will start seeking those boost, but in any case you are certainly more savvy in that aspect than i am, do you think your investments will do well too? also i can't think of any specific kind of foreign service industry that would rise up, it has to be something that would gain popularity and demand once community life goes back, mmmh concerts, entertainment? people joke a lot about barber shops and stylist, but that seems like something that will go up just for the first weeks, so what could benefit from a long lasting increase of value once normality returns? transportation?

Precious metal hoarders, that only pays up if the world actually goes to shit, the idea is that once society falls common currency will lose value and thus having invested in gold and silver becomes the actual best investment, Venezuelans that saw the economic crisis ahead of time did that, and it worked just ok, investing in foreign currency or digital services ended being a better move, i however don't know if that applies to this case, since we are comparing one nation to the world, however yeah precious metals, classic, plus investing in gold and silver will always pay up since the demand will always surpass the supply, the only way i can see it going down would be with the discovery and application of a material that can replace gold and silver, and even with that! you still have the world of fashion to fall back. With that said, i do see the issue if everyone goes and starts buying the same thing at the same time.

Video conferences eat up so much time man, never have i hated the internet so much, so you are working full time from home now? over here my U and lab will enter a 2 week administrative recess, everyone is telling me to use the time and decide how to deal with my thesis, some even tell me that 2 weeks is enough to reformulate and get things ready for this semester, but that sounds like a bad idea, since the jury needs 1 month to revise my work, so it literally would meant doing 5 months of work in 2 weeks, of course i am not starting from 0, but that sounds so risky.

Uncertainty mess you up horribly, because some times you don't even know how to prepare correctly since you don't even know what will happen, there's psychological training about how to deal with it, there's a big catch tho, a huge part about it means you have to become comfortable with uncertainty, and you may lose part of your sense of urgency which is super important.

Yeah so you know how random events have an average of 50%? a randomly low just takes something low, like a 0.01 and then cuts it in half. Better than nothing tho.

Only one that i am familiar with.
Well you know what that paper you shared there has in common with my thesis? neither of them has trials to take them out of the hypothesis field. Do you think i can do that? maybe i can cheese it and say that my thesis is just an hypothesis presentation? na, that contradicts the definition itself of a thesis, man, maybe i will cancel this sempstress, thinking about it some more, once things go to normal people wont have the time to go and serve as experimental subjects since they will be dealing with their own catching up. Anyway interesting paper tho, hope they get some positive results i wish them a P < .001 (it means the evidence is not due to randomness but probably to the sustained hypothesis).

That sounds like a great plan. Definitively stress is a problem specially for people that are not accustomed to such a change in life style, it gets worse if people somatize their stress because they will feel physically ill, which would increase their stress, at some point even making them think that they have things that they actually don't have.

Yeah an immune response that is too strong means that your own system will start attacking even your healthy cells, which happens a lot in respiratory diseases. https://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/qa/what-can-happen-if-your-immune-system-is-working-too-hard

Droplets are heavy so they don't last too long in the air, of course they can travel by air, but they wont last in the air. When people talk they naturally spit in front of them, some more than others, so yes that means it will pass things, but it is more like a water spray rather than an aerosol kind of deal.

...then someone in the same room can get infected. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/320690

But yes, important with hygiene. Skin's finna turn to sandpaper before spring's over.

Kaya yes, good brain. Feels like he felt similar,y but who knows, I both hope they tie up all these loose ends when it's all over and hope they don't! Leave it up to the viewer's imagination.

Man Smoker's more like a father figure to Tashigi isn't he? ;) Him and Hina though. But how did we get into all these relationship stuff... woo, interesting! One Piece really done be changing if it's really that clear.

The anime's currently up at the part where Robin ran into the ninjas, and escaped, and they found Big Mam on the shore but realized she's lost her memory. Things definitely getting interesting! Wonder if she'll be joining the Straw hat pirates for a bit, might be some opportunities here...

It can survive for 1.2 hours on its aerosol form: https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2004973

Mmmh i guess if you are in an enclosed environment and close to someone, just talking to them will indeed get you infected, this is a problem tho, while an hour is not long, it is long enough for you to get a bit paranoid.

Get hand moisturizer, i had to buy and start using it constantly because how often i had to wash my hands after my internship at the psychiatric hospital. It is a superficial solution tho, your hands will get damaged by the soap too, since soap can remove even your skin cells.

Oh they better show us how they will do in their adult ages, i want a 20 and 40 years later from the decks of the world (they are cover stories segments that show you what everyone is doing, another reason to read the manga).

Ooooh, Smoker and Hina is a good match indeed, you got me there, i don't they have a father daughter relationship, when Law swapped their hearts in punk hazard i certainly didn't got that feel. Also i don't like Tashigi x Zoro, because she just looks too much like Kuina and i don't want her to be a replacement, plus we have the new girl now, and boy it is some spicy stuff, i tell you Sanji hates Zoro, Brook got straight out jealous, man when they animate that part is gonna be great.

We are still some ways away from the event itself, but we are closing it, i think Big Mom will put some fools in their place before we get to that part, Big Mom has some baddass moments too.

Just a week ago though no? Time might not fly as fast as you think it does! Mmm so maybe this outbreak came our way just when you needed it the most, all for Doomroar to suitably postpone said education...

Yupp yupp, I'm feeling that way too. Gotta get up. Move a bit. Even when I actually have the energy to go do a crazy work-out I just get stuck by the computer instead, such a waste... tomorrow though. Breaking out. I have the day free. And for sure, some old people are remarkably... there's no good direct translation for 'seg'. :/ It's like a mix of rubbery and tough, and can be used to describe both certain types of candy that are difficult to chew and old people that are difficult to kill, with that similar resilience/traits of bonds that don't break so easily.

Pretty much all ultra-marathon runners are relatively old too. I just hope the requirement doesn't have to be that you're abundantly active when you're younger too... which seems to most often be the case. Exceptions though. Theoretically you should have more miles left on a body if you don't use it all as forcefully when you're younger...

That does sound good, though measures done now will only really show in another week or two, so it's hard to know at what stage it's really getting better. You think you might've caught it though?

Hmm! It's all good dattebayo. :) I hope. The potential that I might be one of those asymptomatic ones too has crossed my mind, my parents too maybe at this point, eating a lot of vitamins it seems reasonable it'd be possible to lessen what could otherwise be more noticeable symptoms too, or cure it at an early stage. Or it really was a normal cold. I'm really really looking forward to those tests later on. Uncertainty's so annoying. :/

Ah man it's like that with avocado too! It's so delicious though, hard to be as mad as monocropping cultures really merit... was thinking industries other than food too but yeah, hmm, it does seem like one of those crops the world would have a hard time living without right now. Same with lemons. A lot of the common stuff can be produced locally too but not those two...

Aha. I guess we must have something like that in places yes, seems far from that point at this point, business owners are just complaining that the government isn't giving them enough to keep them from going bankrupt. Not even tremors no. We had glaciers melting on our lands so long up here that the earth is still rising a centimeter or so every year, I imagine the core's a bit numbed down still, but I guess we'll get more of that in time. Yeah, probably, I'm just very oblivious as to anything related to a national crisis really.

Probably not willingly, but if say Norway just can't get their fish across to China in time, then maybe they'd start packaging themselves out of necessity, and find it's both more profitably and more sustainable in the long run. It seems possible, though it also seems like most trade routes are still working like normal after all.

Hmm, good tips, coffee in particular is an interesting item since the price for it has been so low for so long here, yet they've been speaking for years about how it's getting more and more difficult to farm, we've been just waiting for the price to rise, and yet right now it's actually cheaper than ever... I don't get it. The food industry right now seems to be going great. Local companies are producing more than ever, imports are high as ever too, everyone's consuming more than ever, though not sure how transportation changes will effect them in the long term. Or if, as you say, this will all get flipped and become unstable soon, at which case it might be the perfect time to invest in it... I mean right when it's at its lowest point... as for the companies I invested in I think they'll do OK. It's not many, I gambled upon a local weapon manufacturer, a mining company, a telephone and an entertainment company... the latter two might increase their profits drastically now that everyone's locked down. We'll always need metal, and as for the weapons... not sure about that. Anyway they're all small investments, I need to do some more research before I really gamble anything considerable. Webhosting, gaming platforms, Netflix, that kind of stuff. :) I have a bunch of domain names, so for me the closest small scale currency win that comes to mind is: paying for a few years in advance when the exchange rate is at its lowest... if the dollar REALLY plummets, and our crown doesn't, then this would be fantastic for me. Pretty much the entire hosting industry's in the US.

Yeah transportation sounds like a good one. :) I don't know if there's stock to buy with airlines right now but that might be it... great idea. Maybe trains are a more reliable investment, even if planes don't gain the same popularity again there's still bound to be plenty of travel within countries. Companies that produce medicinal equipment would've been good to invest in before this all started. I wonder about the telecom industry with this, will this be a boost to the 5G plan or a detriment to it, a lot of talk...

One man's end of the world scenario is another man's opportunity to graduate!

So did you end doing the work out? or did it became one of those "the trick is that tomorrow will never come, because we live in today" situations?
Seg sounds hardcore.

As a matter of fact, yes, but when they meant that for pre teenagers, because intense work out can mess with normal development.

Well, i have to do and done things like take out the trash, and buy occasional groceries, plus my mother had to go to the bank at least once, so there are some middle chances that i am a carrier even without the symptoms, then again i haven't come across anyone with symptoms, of course i am just assuming things.

Good to hear, de gozaru.
Yeah those test would come in handy, i am looking forward more to the vaccine tho.

The only way i could see the Colombian avocado industry dying from this, is if our farmers get destroyed by the virus, which can happen in 2 ways:

First one, they draw a lost during this month and the following one and enter in debt, this could happen if some laws from some opportunistic politicians pass forcing the prices of food to drop in order to be more affordable to the general population, cheaper food may be great for everyone that buys it, but it may out right kill people selling it. These laws are being proposed by people trying to gain public favor, and you can see how in the long run it can open itself for disaster, specially because no one is thinking about how the food producers would make up for the lost.

Second one, they get killed by the virus, the rural areas have a low access to medical care, some time no access to medical care, that means that if the virus hits an avocado plantation, the workers there will pretty much have to fend for themselves, and i really doubt that a company working on monocrops would put an emphasis on worker health care out of nowhere.

There are probably other ways things could go wrong for the avocado industry in Colombia, but those are the 2 scenarios that i can see happening, of course, that doesn't means that the companies would just let all the investments they put go in flames, at least not just because they draw a lost for a couple of months or all their workers died, some of the lands those avocados are being grown, were stolen using the armed conflict as an strategy, they were designated as national parks, or reservoirs for our native people, they the lands that those social leaders that get killed each 4 days were trying to protect, remember that paper? so people that do things like that will cheat their back again into survival. I do think that even with a small deep in the stock market the avocado industry will ultimately recover and raise again.

You must have, for example the current president at the beginning of last year, tried to redirect the disaster funds and the public funds for some other thing towards a new fund to support the banking debt, and he kind of managed to get away with it, which now must be biting us all in the ass, anyway not even with that much corruption did we end without a disaster fund, that's how basic a thing it is, BTW now that i think about it, banks! invest in a bank, banks are those kind of business that entire governments will try and bail out and save using the money from the tax payers, is a great inversion, if you find how to do it please tell me.

Yeah disaster funds are meant to cover the basics for individual survival, food, water, clothing, shelter, things like that, rather than business, they aim to safeguard the interest of persons rather than legal persons like businesses, i don't know if there's a mechanism for that, it sounds like a well planned society should have an answer to those cases, i suppose a capitalist society would use credit loans with low interest, because capitalism, a socialist one would have a fund, and a mix of those 2 would have a fund to finance the credit loans that would be given by the government itself, i believe Colombia works with this mechanism because that's the mechanism we use for higher education ICETEX is a credit loan that university students can take, but that it is created by public funding, and it is a common system world over, as messed up as it is, but maybe Europe has something else.

Is money on the line, think about it in an utilitarian and capitalist system, how many people would have to die before you are willing to cut your loses which may run in the the billions of €? in the long run it may give you more profit, but as it stands you already have a system that gives you money, and changing it infers taking on risks, since global response seems to have been opportune the board in charge of such routes may just keep them until something actually goes terribly wrong.

You think that the phone and entertainment companies that benefit from the current lifestyle will keep their spot once people go back to their normal routines, for example, how do you think Netflix will fare once people get busy again? Man the day we no longer need weapons is the day we get world peace, in a way each time someone wishes for peace they are also wishing you for financial lost hahahaha, i do think it is a good investment, conflict it is a basic part of relationships, and we are far from overcoming the use of arms as part of conflict. Gaming platforms? oh so you are banking on that clutch release of the PS5 and XBox Series X at the end of this year? no wonder you are worried with the announcement of delays, yeah i would be sweating too.

Oh man that sounds like straight out gambling.

Hey man i am all for people investing on science and medicine go for it! 5G will do fine, probably even better now that people have been forced to stream and browse for extended periods of time, so news of a technology promising a better connection would be really convenient, because now people have experienced an actual need for it.

...about 5G being a potential cause/amplifier of this too... good time to invest in specific digital start-ups too maybe. Green technology always seems viable too, maybe more now than ever.

Yeah, or if you have some to sell when people start hoarding it, like now. :) Shame you can't really see into the future... another scenario would be they uncover some gigantic gold/silver deposits that lower the exclusivity of it, you never know... but it does feel like a safer bet than regular cash...

Btw just dawned on me that Colombia is maybe one of the largest exports of coffee too, do you know how that's working over there? Any signs there'll be trouble? They were talking on TV about how the farmers need to harvest the coffee right now or it might spoil, but it's hard to get workers, maybe the coffee situation is starting to really change now too...

Well I still only work part time, but full-time of my part-time work at home yeah. No conference calls really, just short chats with my boss. It's working pretty well. Just feels a bit distant. It's easier to do things you're not supposed to on work time, but also feels like you need to do more than usual to really show that you're working... strange balance. Actually just got a pay raise last week, hope there's no drastic decrease in sales or similar, so far so good... hmm so what do you plan to do with these two weeks though? Keep working on the current one?

Hmm, that makes sense... to maintain a sense of urgency while still being comfortable with uncertainty, sounds like that'd be just perfect with the military. It seems like a balance some leaders manage pretty well.

Aha. Yeah that is low but you never know...

Sempstress = woman who sews, but I guess you're referring to something else there. Hmm yeah, difficult time to gather people now. Didn't know a thesis had to be more than a hypothesis though, though you see it in the name itself, revelations... yupp, hope so, if science can really back up the individual stories it'd reach a larger part of the population... did you know the only dude to ever win two unshared Nobel prizes was pretty much a C-vitamin fanatic? Linus Pauling experimented with doses up towards 18 g/day, and lived until 93 y/o. Been reading a lot of positive things about him lately but Googling now it seems there may be some negative too, further research required...

Yes, and that a positive mindset can activate the same receptors viruses otherwise attack, a side-effect of stress thus being they invade easier. It probably has other effects too.

Ah but that's if it's working too hard, not if it's only strengthened no? You could compare it to sleeping properly: if you sleep just enough the immune system's naturally stronger, and there wouldn't be any disadvantage to that would there? Same with eating a proper diet. I don't mean constantly activating the immune system via supplements that affect the brain or some gland directly, but rather keeping essential nutrients in constant supply so the body is equipped to deal with whatever issues might arise. It seems a bit different than the answer you linked to? More so something typically caused by disease, where the immune system for some reason just isn't working the way it's supposed to. I imagine stress might have some effect to that extent too, but wonder if the same could really apply to vitamins for example.

Mmm it'd be reassuring if that was it... indeed an hour is a good amount of time. If you're with the family, just having to dinner, just going about the house, everywhere you are you'd potentially leave something behind....

Yupp, we do have moisturizer at home, also good with regular oils, like coconut oil, or simply eating more omega-3 and similar fats that naturally help the skin. Avocado's great. ;) Fr some reason I get way drier hands in summer though, the rest of the year they're not so bad, even with a lot of washing. In summer the skin seems to crack, layer and peel away, not pleasant at all... possibly some allergic reaction to dirt/farm stuff.

Whaaat they actually have cover stories from the future already?! I don't know man, I like imagining things myself, though so far Oda hasn't disappointed me either even when he draws stuff out...

Well maybe not, but I didn't really get any romantic impressions either, maybe more so leader/follower... or just partner/partner. Of the non-romantic type. They've been through a lot together... regarding Tashigi/Kuina, that's exactly why I thought that might be it, it's like she could be her reincarnation. More like a continuation than a replacement. Anyway this is getting more and more interesting...

Can't wait. :)

Also how do these messages keep getting so long!!! Was thinking I'd cut way down on it this time around...

I am a fan of solar energy and vertical gardens, and food computers, the later tho seems to be far far far away from being practical.

That's really unlikely they are rare metals for a reason, more likely would be discovering an asteroid full of rare metals, that would both ignite an space age, and make the market for those metals drop, or maybe not, because we would be entering a second space age, that would be cool.

Well you know caffeine IS a drug, so... Oh don't worry about it, only small coffee farms actually have to deal with such things, the coffee from farms that manages to be exported can access to the credits i mentioned to you in the other post, because banks themselves and the government invest in them: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-colombia-coffee/colombia-to-create-fund-to-rescue-coffee-farmers-when-prices-drop-idUSKCN1U71Q0 hell we have banks named after coffee companies is pretty much a mafia.

Those small coffee farmers have had a lot of problems for a lot of time, last year they even did 2 public strikes: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-21582631 you may notice something contradictory with those links? if the banks and the government are subsidizing coffee farmers, then why are the coffee farmers doing strikes demanding subsides? well because only the big coffee farmers are getting the money.

Coffee farming is a horrible business for small companies, and the common man, the independent farmer, the family business, you either go big and international, or... that's when certain groups enter offering that you use your land to grow different kind of plants that can keep you awake.

Congratulations on the raise!
I plan on writing to my supervisor, tell him to qualify me as incomplete, and finish it up next semester, i don't think i can do much on these 2 weeks.

Indeed a competent leader should be able to maintain both, i think i am too carefree for that.

I meant to wrote semester and it ended as sempstress.
Oh man, if Linus Pauling had his way, i would be sporting a tattoo on my forehead right now, not like i need one, the fact that i use glasses already lets everyone know that poor eyesight is on my genes, how about you? if Mr Pauling's eugenics project had come to fruition, would you have a forehead tattoo too?

The bad effects of stress are ever growing, at times it is almost a catch it all explanation for every single illness, however stress can be good too in moderation.

An over active immune system, that's what i am referring to. It is also how allergies work.

All the more reason to have soap and surface disinfectant around.

Good to hear you are prepared. Have you seen if the same happens when you wear gloves to work? maybe it is a chronic skin condition, dry skin usually gets worse in summer, and if you have dry skin constant use of soap can make it worse, good thing you have all those counters for it.

Na, na, the cover stories from the decks of the world are for current events, we have had them every now and then, showing us what is going on with everyone else:
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Where_They_Are_Now
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/From_the_Decks_of_the_World
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/From_the_Decks_of_the_World:_The_500,000,000_Man_Arc

Feel free to see them, they don't have any spoilers some stuff the anime covered, some stuff it didn't and it should have been covered.

I said that Oda should show us how things go 20 and 40 years from now, because on the SBS (the Q&A section that Oda has on the volumes) Oda has shown us the physical appearances of some characters at age 40 and 60, giving us 2 alternate endings, one in which things go fine and one in which things go wrong, all in a comical sense of course:
For Ace if he had lived:
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/SBS_Volume_89#Chapter_896.2C_Page_136
Luffy: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/SBS_Volume_89#Chapter_897.2C_Page_154
Sabo: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/SBS_Volume_90#Chapter_908.2C_Page_156
Zoro: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/SBS_Volume_91#Chapter_917.2C_Page_140
Nami: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/SBS_Volume_92#Chapter_930.2C_Page_164

And Usopp, this one is risky because it is from a volume ahead of the anime: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/SBS_Volume_94#Chapter_946.2C_Page_78

So since he in a way, has already shown us adult Luffy and old Luffy, i feel like he should just go all in and show us the world 20 and 40 years in the future, since he opened the can of worms.

Btw, here's Big Mom at ages 28 and 48: https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/onepiece/images/0/0d/SBS86_Young_Mom.png/revision/latest?cb=20170805214605

But the ages of Kunia and Tashigi don't match up...

Brook's reaction is the best man, i really want them to nail that moment.

I wanted to cut it down too, and now... it ended like this.

lmao XD

Hmm I don't recall if I did anything that particular day, but I have worked out a couple times now, and have started wearing wrist weights when I walk, at least an hour a day, so so far so good. Feeling a bit more focused... just ordered a weight vest too. To think I've never been using this type of stuff before. Actually being able to work out WITHOUT working out? No extra time required at all to burn some extra calories?! It's genius. I also hear you burn a little extra if you drink coffee... no no, my motto is, like Dr. Phil says: "Some day is not a day of the week". I know right. :) It could almost work internationally, very similar pronunciation in English too...

Right, at least I didn't work out as crazy pre-teen, unfortunately not teen either, or post-teen...

Though of course they could've been asymptomatic and just not shown symptoms too. O_o Yupp, you never know...

:) You don't think there'd be a danger with rushed vaccines? Like the ones that gave narcolepsy during the swine flu earlier? I'd rather avoid vaccines unless it's just unavoidable. Also those microchip talks are getting stuck in my mind...

Yeah I do remember that paper. :/ Good to hear the avocado industry is probably safe though!

It does feel like a disaster fund could be all the more basic a thing in areas more prone to disaster btw. Oh, recent news over here: they apparently sent huuuuge supplies of gas masks, face masks etc to burn at heat stations a few years back. :/ Since supposedly we'd never need them. Politicians, man...

Yeah banks are definitely the most survival-prone businesses right now, but will their stock go up...? Not sure, even if they manage to ride this out they might not be making that much more money... you can buy stock in your bank of choice, at least most of ours are on the stock market, but I'm not so sure about that stock really blowing up right now...

A fund to finance the credit loans sounds about right over here yeah. The EU have their own general funds too, but they're never distributed very fairly, all countries have their own systems for hos these things work. I don't really know enough about it right now.

That is true yeah, maybe they won't change after all...

To a certain extent yeah, I feel like society overall might become a bit more digital after this. Or maybe I'm totally wrong. Maybe we'll get tired of this technological lifestyle and get closer to nature instead... I feel like phone companies at least are very essential parts of current infrastructure, and with regard to work/new working routines they'll increase their profits even after this. Broadband providers too. Which are usually the same companies that provide phone coverage. As for entertainment ones maybe not so much... I'm not sure about Netflix specifically, it seems they have a bit of a monopoly in certain parts of the world but definitely not over here, we have waaaay too many alternatives. Hey do you have any local streaming services over there? Any one giant? It's true, I don't think we'll ever really get peace, but I feel like future wars might not be fought with as conventional weapons. Like 5G, it really has the potential to be weaponized. The enemy takes over your grid and that's it, game over... though hey, maybe South America will still be buying these guns for some time yet. ;) And a lot of developing countries, of course. It might not be the wrong investment after all...

What, clutch release? I'm way out of the loop there. XD I'm not sure if that was what I was talking about there...

Yupp, but isn't everything in life? Everything we buy, everything we spend our time on... just gotta diversify. Most important thing. I don't follow that advice enough btw.

And yet they're burning 5G masts in England and Hong Kong, talking about potential ties between that and corona. Your prediction could be true, I fear this'll all just speed up 5G even more. I'd really want to shut it down. Health issues. Have we talked about 5G before btw? Maybe I've just been having this conversation with S3C here so far...

It only works if you are in movement tho, if you are sitting at a desk is not much of a big brain move.

Better late than never.

Yeah, you just have to wait and see.

Totally, imagine if the antibodies made with a rushed vaccine would target neurons related to something more critical than your sleep cycle? that's why medical trials are so important. Hell no microchips are a horrible idea, once you get one you get your mind open for more, and then its use normalizes, what i like of both my computer and phone is that even if i see them as part of myself they are not part of my body.

Just to burn them off? not even trying to sell them for cheap in a shady market? man that's such a waste in so many levels.

Good point, good point. I suppose those that are landing out loans to business in the service industry would be making a good profit once the crisis passes, but i guess you would need some inside knowledge to find out which ones are doing that. But i think that's what is called insider trading and may be illegal depending of the country... unless the info is out there in the open.

Maybe is worth giving it a search, for people like your sis for example who may benefit from the existence of something like that, with that said maybe she is better off without taking a loan even if is offered by the government.

Nope as far as i know all our streaming services are international, even the most popular phone companies are international in origin i think, at one point the merging kind of made difficult keep track of where things started.

Well information is a weapon, and the internet is known as the 5th domain, so i pretty much agree with general Brown on this video (BTW the video IS weapon): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOTYgcdNrXE
Of course that's not the future, but now, is not even the present, Nazi Germany had a department of propaganda after all. I recomend the other weapons on that channel, they cover FB, Twitter, Reddit, and other common battlegrounds of the Cyber Domain.
You can take over grids with current tech no need for 5G for that really.
In the end something that outright kills people will never fail out of favor, if you can force someone to pay the ultimate price they will think twice about it.

Well there's speculation that the current pandemic may delay production and the next gen consoles may nor release on time for the holidays which is the peak season for companies to release new products, thus pushing it in the worst case for an entire year, or to release off season.

You sound well adjusted to uncertainty to me, if you see everything as a gamble XD (even if deep down it is).

Oh man i have you THE VIDEO for that, it is something that has happened before mostly with Wind Turbines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9ckNLI9dRc that video is also a weapon, and is more malicious that the previous one, hell it can backfire if you are prone to believe in conspiracies. You are gonna make me feel real bad if you start believing that wind turbines make people sick, you should invest in those BTW, since you are looking for alternative energy production.

You know 5G doesn't does anything extraordinarily different to make you sick that current tech already does, it is the combination of wireless tech that we already use, in essence is the union of 3 different band spectrum in order to exploit the strength and weaknesses of each other, the coordination of these bands is what makes 5G in a way your current phone should be able to already be compatible with 5G, and depending of were you live your cellphone antenna may already be a 5G antenna for a long time.

I really don't see what the mystery people see on this.

Food computers? Synthetic food...? Huge fan of solar energy too. Vertical gardens sound cool.

Mmm that could happen too. Huge doomsday asteroid packed with rare minerals! Dystopian post-apocalyptic utopia all in one!

Yeah but... a healthy one right? :P oh nice, or well... not nice but interesting. Never seen coffee berries before either... how much does coffee cost over there? Is it a big part of the culture overall?

Hmm, so that's why we get those contradictory messages too, troubles with coffee production, and yet it just gets cheaper and cheaper... it's a shame. Feels similar to farming industries overall, all over, either you get big fast and become profitable, or you never do. But then again there's a movement with more sustainable farming too, and interest in really buying local product directly from the source. Hope we move more and more towards that again. It's healthier too. Healthier produce, in many cases, and healthier for the land. Seems you'd appreciate working on your own farm more than getting hired by a gigantic one too.

Thanks! It's small but still, anything's appreciated. :) Hmm you really have been pouring some time into these comics... hope for the best there. Or maybe no chance he might refuse the request?

Mmm. Me I'm too not carefree. Get stressed up on the most superficial things. Think it's a Scandinavian trait.

Ah! Got it. About glasses or tattoos? I do have glasses, only really use them when I drive or have to though. Leaning closer and closer to the screen instead. I'm trying to better my vision by relaxing, taking breaks and varying focus on near/distant objects. It works short-term, but I'm just not committed enough, I think part of it's a fear that it won't work completely anyway, just slow down the deterioration, so I don't commit myself completely, and then of course it doesn't work... Mr Pauling's eugenics project though, didn't know about that bit, I guess I would...

Yeah, good stress. That type when you get things done without feeling stressed right?

Mmm, to allergies huh, good to know.

Yupp.

Yeah I've tried gloves, now usually use them most of the time when I'm working with crops, but they don't really keep out the dirt entirely. They seem to help though. Not sure what that means really, if it's just the dryness of the dirt (it's very dry where we are, like fine sand), particles, or just wear and tear. Yeah it could be. Could be a lot of things, it might've improved a bit when I stopped with gluten... a lot of these things seem to have to do with gut bacteria. Or the microbiome. How you process nutrients and toxins.

Ah right, I remember some of those from the books, thanks.

Luffy really turns out like his grandpa huh. XD Seems like way too strong a jaw for him though... well alright, this wasn't as revealing as I thought, fun stuff, would definitely be cool to get a glimpse into their future world too. Just... still... what if it isn't as great as you imagined it, the further away the future is the greater the imagination seems to play...

Took the risk with Usopp too, potential name reference I shan't think too much about, he seems pretty much the same in both cases huh. XD

Big Mom looking good too! :D

Hmm you're right... though do we know their ages? Tashigi isn't Zoro's age - Kunia's age when she died?

Nice.

Too much to talk about. XD Well as long as the convo's still mutually beneficial/entertaining/all that, maybe it'll get shorter by itself soon enough...

A food computer is a computer that manages an artificial environment, like a small green house whose atmosphere can be controlled, things like the level of humidity, temperature, atmospheric pressure, light, creating something like a recipe for the ideal conditions in which to grow a corp, however the lead researcher straight out lied on the results in order to get founding.

A vertical garden, is an indoors garden whose space use is mostly vertical, and depends primarily on artificial light and hydroponics in order to grow plants.

I love solar energy too, the problem is its efficiency and its not so green carbon footprint involved in the development of the panels...

It is addictive, can lead blood pressure problems, hearth disease, insomnia, among other things, as far as drugs go i think is around as bad as sugar, except that we do use sugar in order to live.

Coffee cherries are actually quite sweet, and apparently have more caffeine that the seeds, i like them more than coffee which i actually find too bitter to be enjoyable, if i have to drink black coffee i must pour at least 6 small spoons worth of sugar on it, that or burn my tongue with the first sip.

Coffee over here is extremely cheap both in price and quality, is probably one of the cheapest things you can get, a coup of water is more expensive than a coup of coffee, despite water being an ingredient of coffee...

Apparently the really good stuff is always exported, so chances are the common Colombia hasn't tasted good coffee XD, and it is indeed a big part of the culture, hell an entire region is officially named after coffee https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colombian_coffee_growing_axis , so unless you go to a really good restaurant or travel to the eje cafetero you wouldn't have taste good coffee in Colombia.

Well it depends, i agree with most of those statements, except with one, it is not necessarily healthier, because not all independent and small farmers will use the right pest control, however with the new farmer communities that's starting to be less of a problem, but still some will use the cheaper even if more toxic option, and at the end of the day organic farming is a label that can be abused in technicalities.

Yeah if you manage to thrive as an independent farmer, it sounds like a good business.

He doesn't gains nothing by refusing the request.

Pulling your hair out from the stress kind of guy? personally when i get stressed i just go and sleep for half a day, i am that kind of guy, no one else i know is like that.

All of that part was about Mr Pauling's eugenics project, he proposed to put tattoos on the foreheads of people with genetic deficiencies, as warning to discourage potential partners, that's why i said that i would have ended with a tattoo if his project had worked out, since i use glasses. What else have you found about him? i was sure that was what you were talking about.

I was thinking more about how tomatoes would get bigger, sweeter, and juicier when put under stress, kind of stress. But yeah getting shit done kind of stress is also good stress.

Are you allergic to gluten tho? man that's harsh.

I mean i don't think he would go and show us a bad future, after all it is a future that would happen after they all accomplish their dreams, i would love to see that.
You brave bastard! i hope you didn't scroll up or down. Come on he looks totally different at age 40 when "something" happens he even got fat, lol at saying that Luffy and Zoro are his disciples, that is so Usopp.

I know right no wonder she got to birth 85 children, and maybe she didn't rape all of her husbands.

Indeed Tashigi isn't Zoro's age, she is older by 2 years.
When Kuina dies she was 11 and Zoro was 10.
When Zoro encounters Tashigi he was 19, and Tashigi was 21. Therefore it is impossible for Tashigi to be a reincarnation of Kunia since she was already alive for quite some time before Kunia died.
Also this is what Tashigi looked like when she was a child: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/SBS_Volume_68#Chapter_673.2C_Page_122
Every time i link the wiki i give you more reasons to read the manga XD.

Of course. XD I do take walks everyday, so assuming I'm bulking up a bit extra with those now. It's amazing how much more just a few kilos feels like, yet when it's carried around as body weight you don't even notice the extra burden until you lose it...

Yupp!

Yupp.

Yeah... and yeah man, that's what I mean. Lotta talk about ulterior motives with vaccination movements being to insert microchip/nanite technology into everyone. Apart from potential side-effects to your health there's always that potential.

Right, just use them as fuel. :/ I know, and yet they mentioned it in the media once and now it's all forgotten... nobody's held responsible for anything anymore. There should be repercussions to stupidity when not only is it on a government level, but has such a potentially large impact on people's lives as this.

Yeah that sounds reasonable, short-term losses but long-term profits if everything gets back on track again. I guess they're all giving out loans to some extent, but when the right time to invest is... it feels like things probably aren't at their lowest point yet. For sure. I have no idea about the laws regarding insider trading over here, but assuming it's similar on an international level. How about you though? Exceptions in Colombia?

For sure. It's tricky, since it's happened before that in times of financial surplus the government frees people from earlier loans, so the ones who took loans suddenly get a boost, yet all those who managed to get by without one are suddenly at a disadvantage, having relied on their own resources through those hardships. Anyway I feel like if you can manage yourself, then that's always for the best, potential investment losses or no. Good to know if there is a safety-net there though.

Interesting. Was Netflix common over there? Most common phone companies?

And to think this video's now out in the public domain hmm... interesting. Internet's definitely changing the preconditions for war. True. The weapons are there already, they're just growing in amount and spread, taking over the world now...good channel. Bookmarking.

Aha.

Life's certainly uncertain. :) I do get stuck in routines but I think I fear change all the more since I know how easy it is for those routines to get changed without my wanting...

Conspiracies are just potential alternative truths aren't they? ;) Conspiratorial only until proven, and that proof widely accepted as true. You know I'm actually not a FAN of wind turbines. :P Solar cells though. I love those. Before I watched the video I was thinking about possible associations with sounds emitted by the generators that might cause certain dizziness...

Seems we may have a major disagreement issue here man. :) The frequencies won't only be slightly higher with 5G, but the technology uses a different kind os pulsation than earlier, a different wavelength (the frequencies used initially aren't so high, but it'll be moving from micro to millimeter waves in the future), and these aspects just haven't been studied. It's however known that 60 Ghz (the highest allowed within the 5G range) has been used in public dispersion experiments before, and has such an effect on your tissue that it physically hurts. Direct health effects set aside though, what about the unknown effects of launching devices with powerful EMF fields into our magnetosphere? They're already on route with those, hoping to set 20,000 in orbit soon.

I really feel like 5G might be that one line we just shouldn't cross. Earlier technologies seem to be affecting us enough already. Had I linked to this before? Maybe this could give some new perspectives: https://www.5gspaceappeal.org/

Look at you being all Piccolo about it.

Seems like a good case for someone to investigate over, but if it was in the news and nothing happened i guess that was that.

I have no idea how insider trading works over here, probable a grey area.

Yo the government frees you of your loans over there? holly shit man, that sounds too good to be true, is like a wet dream.

Netflix has become quite common, since 2 years ago. We used to have something like 20 different companies that offered cellphone services, cable, and internet, they all merged and now we have 3 + the government developed one.

Yeah Dustin covers all kind of topics, which surprises me a great deal.

I mean you say aha, but look news like these are common: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-04-16/sony-is-said-to-plan-limited-playstation-5-output-in-first-year

I think fearing change has it good things, it shows that you have achieved a certain degree of well-being in life.

Bruh... this probably wont help but, if wind turbines and cellphone towers were the cause behind maladies, even the animals would suffer the symptoms but they don't.

Oh man you are deep on it, but i know the best argument to deal with this kind of situation, i will leave it to time to prove us right or wrong.

Nothing will happen, nothing ever happens, every single year some guy comes talking about a new end of the world scenario, and the world doesn't ends, we are in the middle of a global pandemic, and the world doesn't ends, fuck it the world didn't even had the decency to be on hold for a couple of months it just keep going.

You know, a part of me wants you to be right, and awaits with longing for your fears to be real, except that your fears are slow as fuck, and they are 3 months too late, like my thesis. Sorry man i didn't want to get personal, but the apocalypse failed me by being more panic that fire, and i am in the process of getting over it.

So they decided to go back to the usual calendar, so that month extension i said i had, is now gone...

Ah alright. Smart greenhouses too hmm...

Aha. :/ Not a fan of those unfortunately. In theory it sounds good, and the light part's already, but it doesn't seem like a sustainable method in the long run. Crops grown this way always lack certain nutrients too. Seems difficult to emulate real soil.

Indeed. And batteries. Hope they keep improving upon it though. We already have that gigantic reactor way out in space, would be ideal to feed of the energy that's here already instead of wasting our own; finite Earthly strains.

Coffee? You're not a fan? On the other hand it does make it a bit easier to lose weight, it helps with blood circulation and dilutes vessels, so paradoxically it can also help with heart issues. Seems studies show both pros and cons, but maybe all those pros are ones funded by the coffee industry huh... maaaan six spoons of sugar! XC I like it both as is or with a little milk. Never sugar. Espresso in particular, with less tannic acid. Though btw: I don't usually drink coffee. Save it for those rare occasions when I real need it. Like travel. No better way to wake up. Cool to know what the cherries taste like too, though I thought you said berries last time...

Oh! Sounds a bit like Coca Cola in Mexico, where they derived entire villages of their water supply for production but sold them cheap soda instead... then again it sounds amazing. I guess it's maybe the most common beverage there then? Do kids drink coffee?

Nice. :) Though shame you don't get any of the real stuff yourselves. Trying to think of any similar industries we might have... not sure. Feels like whatever we have here is mostly only appreciated over here, fermented fish and all that. XD Maybe materials, iron, wood, wonder where the best quality goes...

Ah, yeah, didn't think of that bit. Organic coffee's still a rarity over there. Speaking of btw, it seems our import lines for coffee might've been cut off somewhere too, suddenly shops no longer have a surplus...

Yupp.

Sounds good. :)

More like getting headaches and less sleep and eating too much chips. :P That sounds like way more of a South American trait though. :) Aren't people generally pretty calm over there? Not so concerned about being on time and such? I wish I had a bit of that mindset too. Maybe with time. Recently started with a daily breathing session to calm down: https://youtu.be/0BNejY1e9ik

...that and cold showers every morning really gives a boost. Feels great.

Right, yeah, I read that via the Wikipedia page too, Ah no, the thing I was talking about earlier was his c-vitamin experiments, where he took doses of up to 18g per day, and lived up till 93 y/o, thus in my mind being living proof that c-vitamin, if not inherently good, at least probably isn't inherently BAD for you. My dad got a cold the other day btw, whole family took 10 g doses, he rested up and now he's better than ever. Feeling like it might be a really potent practice we're getting into here...

Whaaat? XD The pressure kind of stress? Too much and they're ketchup... for sure.

It seems so yeah. I never took a test, but when I started getting blisters under my tongue a couple years back I tried cutting out certain items from my diet, and that was the thing that fixed it. Removed sugar and milk too and added them in again after a while. Feels great. Felt unnaturally focused and energetic at the time but I guess it's more of a normal state of being since, sometimes I wonder if the improvement really was so drastic... think I wrote about in on the blog back then at least, so initial impressions are forever saved...

It's not so bad btw. You can eat pretty much everything without gluten too. Oats in particular are easy to substitute wheat with, it's just a bit more difficult to get the right consistency when you're baking stuff. What is a shame is they really add in gluten to types of foods it doesn't need to be in. Sauces, breakfast cereals, chips, all kinds of stuff. It really only has an advantage with dough, everything else would be just well and healthier without. For everyone.

Yeah you see? Still saying the same things, barely changed at all. :) I did notice a certain chubbiness but he has those phases y'know, he likes to eat when stuck on carnivorous plant islands and such... don't think I scrolled around on those pages no. Didn't really spot any real spoilers.

lmao yeah. XD She wouldn't need to... 85 by blood though?! That's crazy... thought it was a bit of a Whitebeard thing. The whole crew his children.

Damn man you totally disproved my theory. XD Well alright then, I guess she isn't... not that the picture of her as a child had anything to do with it, but nice to see.

Just spontaneously bought all the Naruto books btw. I was up to 29 before, but what the hell, it's time. Time to partake in the adventure in it's entirety, all the way past the Swedish translations...

Thought about getting some One Piece box sets too but... one at a time. It's really an investment...

Like it or not, they seem effective enough to grow certain plants in places were otherwise farming would have been quite limited. Also they don't use soil but water.

Yo! a Dyson sphere!? if we can't even get people comfortable with the idea of 5G, something like harvesting the energy of the sun will never happen.

Not a fan at all.

Oh that has happened in here too, the guerrillas bombed the companies tho, so the people got back their human right of access to affordable potable water, i am not condoning terrorism tho, but...
Kids drink coffee too, it was not until like 15 or so years ago that it became common knowledge that kids shouldn't be drinking coffee so soon, that said just because people know that they should be drinking coffee doesn't means they wont give them coffee, the addiction starts early over here.

It doesn't usually gets mentioned a lot, if at all, but one of our main exports is flowers, so maybe you guys have something similar to that, something really popular but easy to forget.

Good thing you are not addicted to coffee right?

Na, i am surrounded by neurotics, matter of fact apparently being neurotic is normal, when i learned that in class i wanted to argue an objection, but then i realized that i would be getting myself in an argument against a neurotic... and well if most of the people are like that, i guess that would make it normal in a way. And well they went on about the Big Five personality traits: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Five_personality_traits and my personality is pretty made mostly of the inverse of the big 5.

The common Colombian will under stress become a wreck and pray to god a lot, then make an scene, get drunk, and then maybe do something about it, in a complicate and recursive manner, they will be really active and inefficient in the stress management. And apparently if you don't drink beer regularly you are not a real Colombian, i learned that from another Colombian on the internet, it seems that i am a fake for i don't really drink alcohol, i am fine with it, i don't think alcohol should be part of your identity nor a common way to solve your problems, but whatever.

Yeah the only ones that actually get away with being late regularly over here are the public transport industry, you are expected to know this and be on time regardless of the very valid excuse that public transportation sucks, which i do think is totally unfair.

Cold showers do nothing to me in order to wake me up, they kind of get me in the mood to keep sleeping since they fresh me up.

I get that part, but what was the bad stuff you found about him, if it wasn't his eugenics project?

I suppose if you bake your own bread it is more manageable.

Oh come on that was a one time thing! good good, then you are spoiler free.

She popped 85 children out of her vagina, at one time she gave birth to 10 at the same fucking time! https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Charlotte_Decuplets ok... maybe not at once, but on the same pregnancy, with that said, she is big enough to birth 10 babies at once... well it doesn't really matters how, she gave birth to them one way or another, and to 75 other kids, some of which have kids of their own, she is a fertile woman, who spend most of her life pregnant and somehow became an emperor of the seas, a monster in every sense of the word. Big Mom, literally.

Naruto of all things, some people regret the time they spend reading it, others go and give it their money... fine!

Enjoy your totally not homoerotic story between a furry blonde and an emo war criminal, as they rediscover the power of friendship while being guided by the reincarnated wills of the sons of a bunny moon goddess, and then! do enjoy your read as you transition into the misadventures of Boruto. Also Hinata becomes flat-chested.

What the hell man, of all the manga you could go and buy, Naruto of all things, at least try to get into Jojo dammit!
