Technically started last season, is an adaptation of a cult classic manga, is about samurais, scumbags, honor, revenge, and plenty of action and blood, this one is the second time it gets an anime adaptation, personally i would recommend just reading the manga, and since i am so familiar with this story i think its value is just from around episode 8 which is when they get to cover things that the old adaptation didn't got to cover, it is also around the time the biggest piece of shit of human garbage of a villain in the history of fiction appears, Shira is a horrible man.

From last season... Vinland Saga, Dr Stone, No Guns Life, Enen no Shouboutai, they are all adaptations of manga, but they got great animation, i recommend them as a way to go and then start reading the manga, i recommend them in that order too.

The comedy is great too, hell the succubus have a political party running for congress and their slogan is "Wanna fucc? Vote Succ!".
And of course Psycho-Pass and Carole and Tuesday which I recommended you before, those are from 2 or 3 seasons back, so start of 2019, fuck it lets add Dororo to those 2.
Dororo: is an adaptation of the classic manga Dororo by the God of manga Ozamu Tezuka, it follows the quest of Hyakkimaru, an orphaned boy with more prosthetics on his body than flesh as he goes around killing demons in order to regain his body parts which were stolen from him at birth when his father a local daimyo sacrificed him to 12 demons in order to obtain prosperity for his realm. It is as hardcore as you read it, of course it has some fantasy elements, because if you get dismembered as a baby and end without skin, eyes, etc, you would have died, but the Buddha intervened.
Anyway that's a lot, but my actual recommendations from all that are just Dorohedoro and Eizouken, just those 2.
For the ones of last season if you are not planning on reading the manga then please do watch Vinland Saga and Dr Stone.

Is the second anime adaptation, this one seems to cover the whole manga, although i must say it is skipping some little bits here and there.
It is cool, you do have to pay attention tho, some of their most important deductions and key clues are discovered in a flash so if you don't catch them once they start talking about how they puzzled everything together it gives the impression that they pulled things out of their asses, but in reality they just went over the key factor really quickly.
He is also the director for Mind Game, Kemonozume, Genius Party, Kaiba, The Tatami Galaxy, Ping Pong the Animation, Devilman Crybab, and also directed episode 9 of Samurai Shamploo.

Yeah I listened through a few of their albums back in the day but never really got into them. It was a good, but somehow more like background music somehow, I think your impression sounds about the same. It's just cool that they use those tools! And I imagine that's why they've become so famous too. Maybe there's a certain hypnotic element to their music too, how it builds, a little psychedelic... but I'm not a huge fan... yet. I think it's the only song of theirs I've ever heard, but it's one of those that's etched in my childhood memories forever... lot of nostalgia with all old songs but somehow it feels like everything was better back then. Sounds very different when you play it to that video too.
Oh, i will stop you there, nothing will ever compare again to Shigurui when it comes to explicit gore, it is a miracle that they ever managed to animate Shigurui without heavily censoring it, it felt out of time we probably will never see something like that again for a few years, even Devilman Crybaby didn't really manage to go all the way with the nitty gritty for the dismembering scenes, and that's while keeping in mind that every single work of Go Nagai depends on shock value and edge (ok maybe he has some whole some works? but those are rare), that's his bread and butter, sex and violence, sure he pioneered key themes of anime with Mazinger Z, Devilman, Violence Jack, Cutie Honey... yes the guy is a living legend, but as writer his plots suck they are shallow, and depend on sensationalism, and not even with that Devilman Crybaby managed to go all the way with the gore.
So i can say with confidence that we are still some years away for another anime with 80s kind of gore.
Detective Conan is a classic, yeah i have seen it, it never hooked me tho, when i went to check how the plot had advanced it turned out that for how simple it seemed not a lot has happened, but it seems like the mysteries just keep getting weirder tho.
He still has his crazy voice and style so there's that.
Oh NPR has great sound engineering, but for that video i just feel that the IDLES vocalist didn't pop out that much despite putting so much feeling into it, sometimes it was hard to hear his voice.

As for Detective Conan the main plot progression is definitely spread pretty thin amidst all those other murder cases, which is both a shame and not, since if you're into detective fiction it's a treasure trove of cases, but a shame also because: the main plotline was good too! If you really want to follow it the amount of episodes you have to wade through between bursts of progress is just crazy... longest running anime ever at this point.
I tried marathoning all nine hundred but it's just too much. The manga though: hooked on that. Slowly gathering books to keep reading.
Hmm compared to the video it's definitely not as loud, but I felt the feeling came across plenty. Maybe they mixed it down though. Personally I liked the mixing in NPR better than in the one you linked to.

Though holy shit how had I never heard of most of these before. :O Doreamon and Crayon Shin-chan ring a bell but I had no idea they were still going...
The main plot progression? Well it starts like this: Shinji and Ran, two long-time friends with a brewing romance, are hanging out at a theme park when a girl just so happens to get decapitated in their roller coaster, he solves the crime, whilst at the same time running into a couple of shady individuals we later grow to know as Vodka and Gin, two members of a powerful syndicate that are there on unrelated business. He stumbles into their business again, gets discovered, is given a drug that's supposed to kill him but makes him small (I assume you know this much already though?) and there the roller coaster begins... the continual strife is to track down those syndicate members and figure out how to grow big again, all the while keeping his identity a secret from Ran (as to not put her in danger), solving murder cases both as Kogoro Mori (Ran's dad) and as himself, via phone or similar. Eventually the master thief Kid (from a separate series - same author) also joins is as a sort of antagonist counterpart, and they have reoccurring feuds between them, occasionally Ran gets suspicious and Conan has to do something to mislead her, the only ones who know his identity are the Doctor, who provides him with spy-like equipment to assist him in his child-like life, another teenage detective from Okinawa - also a reoccurring character/assistant/contestant, and eventually his parents, who live abroad but have some pretty special personalities, and Sherry, a former researcher with the Syndicate who they also try to kill, but instead turns to a child like Conan, lives with the Doctor and goes to the same school. Then there's the Detective Kids, which Conan involuntarily becomes a part of, who solve some pretty serious crimes despite their child-like disadvantages. One of which has a crush on Conan, but of course he only cares about Ran, so relationships complicate.
At first he tackles the syndicate by himself, then with Sherry, then with his Okinawaian rival, with his parents, with the doctor, with other parties who unfortunately die at the hands of the syndicate. Eventually he runs into the FBI, also working on tracking down the syndicate, and they develop a strange relationship too. He keeps stumbling into those regular cases, but occasionally a syndicate lead appears, the intrigue rises, usually someone gets killed, and for each encounter it just gets more and more series. So: that's the main plotline. The specific encounters aren't all fresh in memory, but the level of layers to the plot is what makes it so impressive I think. It's not just a linear case-by-case thing, but always one that has an impact on the characters around him as well, and the closer Conan gets the closer the Syndicate gets to finding out about him too... anyway this turned into more of a summary huh. It's a pretty exciting story, and always that underlying romance, and mystery, and element of an unseen threat just luring behind every darkly dressed figure that appears in their path...
Don't know what's happened in the latest hundred episodes or so though. Maybe bigger revelations at this point. Maybe Ran knows who Conan really is...
I actually have the album with that one on vinyl. :) The rest aren't particularly memorable though... there's a lot about God too. Surprisingly religious lyrics.

So from that my favorites were: Happy Now?, End it on this, Just a Girl (was quite theatrical, an interesting way to kept the fans engaged by telling half of them to shut up hahaha), The Climb (second half, the very end even reminded me of Soul Coughing), Total Hate (again the second half), The Imperial March, Sunday Morning (had some very.... interesting moments, lets put it like that), Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da.
