We actually don't hear anything about Colombia on the news over here, and I'm not sure Venezuela has been mentioned either. It's like a certain part of the world is just not on our radar. Everything deals mostly with China, US, Russia; these superpower relations, and then our neighboring countries over here. Have heard about riots in Chile, but that's the closest it gets. As if these things are the norm over there. Or for some reason just don't reach abroad. Maybe we don't have journalists in your areas hmm... maybe it's a more dangerous place to be than the middle east... maybe since larger governments/commercial entities aren't involved in the power struggle then the mainstream media just doesn't represent. Hmm...

Actually I do have a Soundcloud too, but it's rarely uploaded to. Not too happy they have a cap on uploads. If you choose to really invest in them you'll suddenly realize you have to pay to upload new stuff, or start removing your old stuff, and I'm not a fan of removing stuff or paying for stuff involuntarily. Patreon though, they seem pretty benevolent and open...

Will see how that goes next year. I have some collabs lined up that I'm currently procrastinating with/somewhat too busy for... need to get a grip on this shizzle.

Glad you appreciate violins too. It's not something I usually listen to, but with that first bit I feel like her voice did the most too. Voice like a violin. I wasn't as amazed with the rest of them but did listen through.

Just struck me: I wonder if the practicality of living in a warm country makes it harder to get goosebumps. That even if it's an emotional response, the temperature plays a role in heightening/easing that physical response. Maybe your blood flow temporary slows if you have an emotional peak, which incites the skin to react, even if the music itself, say, is not actually THAT amazing...

Ah man Earth Gang are awesome. :D Saw them for the first time on Fallon's late night show a few days back. Wasn't a huge fan of their more modern mainstream rap style then, but the softer/more melodic was: really nice. The Color Show really brought out the best side in them but I do prefer This Side over Up. At least over the latter part. Not a fan of the slur trend. This really isn't the style of music I'd get goosebumps from though. :) Interesting... maybe I need to have them on repeat a bit to fully appreciate. They're definitely musical but I don't really catch the same depth of feeling here as with say that violin thing.

How's the typo level on alternative/Indie sources? I really don't partake much in the mainstream but every time I happen to read a real article/read some news subtitles something pops up. I've been with Em since before the Eminem Show yo. Still a fan of his music, but not so much his character now. MGK had the dis written up before Eminem responded to him, though? Didn't know that. I had the impression Eminem just really overreacted to his tweet, called P Diddy to get MGK off the label, etc. Then had a little mainstream media campaign where he made it seem like he was all over it, making half-assed jokes and looking fake. Was disappointing. I loved the Kamikaze album though. Can't say MGK was anywhere near with the Binge EP (one of his worst works IMO), but the thing I respect about him is that he seems to be true to his emotions. He says what he feels. He stands for what he says. He gets emotional. He doesn't bullshit. He's never compromised his artistic integrity for commercial interests. Eminem used to be like that too but now it feels like he's just hiding behind a facade. He's changed. :/

I think you're getting the mainstream version of the story though. Did you read the tweet that stirred it all? Do you feel Eminem's reaction was really merited? What's sad is that the media were probably the spark that really got things started too, trying to incite a response from both of them; getting them riled up against each other. That tweet could've been just another tweet. I'm sure hundreds of people at least say worse things in regard to Hailie every day without ever getting the, in their case maybe, befitting repercussions.

Then the other side that's just totally braindead.

Maybe not right to just split the new school in two sides though, there's so much more than that, but what I mean is: they stylize more than they accentuate. I'm not a huge fan of that approach either.

Yeah you're right, he's not selling out. I feel like he definitely misunderstood MGK though. Maybe you need to go deeper into his discography to realize what kind of person he really is. They have similar roots. Trying to get P Diddy to unsign MGK... that bit still feels petty.

But he didn't act out of line, that's the thing. At least I didn't perceive it that way. Em could've taken it as a compliment. MGK respected him heavily; he's said that in multiple interviews as well as within that very same tweet. Sure he has a social following, but he wasn't pushing for that following to do anything here, it was just a comment. No enmity. If anything Em's response could've been a thing to incite MGK's following to respond, towards him or his daughter, not very responsible.

It becomes a part of their acentuation; drawing out words and syllables in new ways. Well it was in regard to Mars and the flaky memories I may have of the fifth war when the time comes but: interesting. Have you done any of these yourself? How's your memory?

I remember reading something about memory being closely correlated to eyesight as well, which makes sense, considering visualization is a big part of the memorization techniques all the masters of the art seem to recommend. I have this, probably naive, hope that once I get my eyesight all better my memory will improve with it. You never know though! I shall research further and share my findings in blog form if such time comes.

Hmm or just trying to take in too much/being tired/not learning to properly commit things to memory by somehow going through them at the end of the day/during sleep/whenever? I feel like the more you consume the easier it is to forget, and probably for that reason. Certain moments get etched in memory forever, and they usually happen to be drawn-out moments, experiences, maybe there's a difference in what kind of memories your mind's more intent on preserving too, different from person to person...
