How big are these really? they appear to be quite long.

they're not that big, more long. i think about 2-3 ft long. they're peices of wood i found that make good painting material

Purple? Black?
It looks dark grey to me, with a bits of silver, no idea what colors you guys are seeing.

Anyway in some versions of GitS Major Motoko has purple hair so if the purple-ish tint is true then that would be perfectly fine, well at least better than what i am seeing.
