yes, yes the characters are good, but people...
look! the background! the background is screaming a story there, holy shit that background, there are rocks failing, vehicles flying, buildings floating, spies snipping, and those 2 enourmous things is that a giant cyclops behind the main characters? and at the far right of the whole thing.. is that a think tank?

man this story can be big! you know im sold every time a story comes with a great environment i know even if the characters end sucking you can always look at the scenery, good thing that even the characters have that wackiness to make them interesting, that's it im gonna stalk you on DA just to get more info on this.

Good job, i didn't believe it with the animation and the other images, i was sure it was good but didn't got to see more of what it was to come, but with this sneak peak at the city, it just made it for me.

now please don't tell me the background is a random drop of creativity just to fill the pic.

Glad you like it that much. I can't see that cyclops anywhere but that's another reason to leave the background to your imagination! All I can say is that everything in it is relevant to the story (of which the first animation didn't even encompass 5%).

i rated this one 4 the first time i saw it, and after reading your respond to Squidly, man this has so much potential with that shadow farmer down there, it adds that 4th dimension to it, if i was to made it into a game, i would make it either an action platformer or a point and click rpg. with some zoom in and out.

It's much more interesting when there's some dual sidedness about it, than when it's just about gardening. I was afraid the shadow gardener wouldn't be so clearly visible. I wanted to make the farmer and shadow farmer larger, but the island looked better and more interesting with everything small. Good idea to have a zoom function, or to have some scenes parts of the game closer by. I had a lot of things in mind that I couldn't realize because of the large pixels. I wanted to make the water circulate like Escher stairs. But it was too difficult to pull off. Also I wanted to make a device that keeps the island afloat, like propellers, balloons. Add some mysterious steam machines. Add birds, fish and bees. But I ended up not doing any of that. Everything soon becomes too cluttered. It's probably better if there aren't too many details. The unclearity caused by the pixels leaves more to the imagination, and makes it more mysterious I hope.

I hear that's changing though. NG wants to have the "Big artsy fartsy" image, and that's good, but they also want to steer away from the "controversial NG," meaning anything too pornographic or morally wrong probably won't get showcased like it used to back then, mostly because I think Tom wants NG to expand and look good in the eyes of newcomers, and having "XXX SMUT KILL EM ALL GURO HENTAI COLLABXXX" on the frontpage will negate that. The only sanctuary for porn is the Art Portal, but in the end that kind of stuff won't get frontpaged easily, if not at all..

Also, this is for the Game Jam 9. AustinBreed is in charge and I'm not sure if he'll let teams use this image unless they take out the scantily clad women or make heavy changes to almost everything that the game won't look like the original image anymore.

[Boob Physics - A Tutorial]

This is not a guide for people to draw boobs, is a guide for surgeons to learn where to place the nipples on those fake boobs, i mean yes they are fake but come on! at least get the nipples right!!!!
